I say 50/50 because if Joe can take it too the later rounds, He might pull it off, But I also see another RNC, So 50/50

Joe's got the tools to beat Bj, its just a matter of whether he is prepared for the initial 2 round barrage that Bj is known for, if he can survive that he'll probably win. Still, im betting on penn in round 3.

BJ has got some of the best skills in MMA,but I could see Stevenson just out muscling him in this fight and keeping him pinned on the ground, planning out a barrage of elbow strikes.

BJ has got a solid ground game, but I think Stevenson's wrestling ability might give him the advantage if he can keep BJ on his back.If Stevenson survives the first 2 rounds,I think his chances of winning will greatly increase based on how BJ's cardio seems to go down hill the longer a fight goes.

I voted for BJ in a mismatch win, but I don't think he will get dominated in the same fashion Hughes just did.

The thing that worries me about Joe, is that he has the reputation of opening up some cuts with his nasty elbows.

Joe is a good fighter, so of course he has a chance of winning.

I have a tough time picking the choices in the poll. I think there's a decent (maybe 30%) chance that Stevenson wins by taking Penn into the deep rounds and outworking him for a decision. But if Penn wins, which is likely IMO, then it will probably be by an early KO or sub.

If Joe doesn't make the mistake of trying to roll with BJ, then he'll be OK. I think that Daddy has the slight standup edge in this fight, and I hope he's working on his sprawl for BJ. Another option (which is good for him, and not for the fans) is to lay on top of BJ for a couple of rounds using the lay n pray. I don't think that Joe is that type of fighter, though. My thoughts are that he comes out a tad hesitant at the beginning of the fight (trying to take it to the later rounds), and he'll try not to make a mistake. This will be a good fight, but it may be a lot like the firs Pulver/Penn fight. That is, Joe will put the pressure on BJ and then just outlast him.

Man, I did have BJ, but I think I just talked myself into changing my pick to Joe. I'll have to think about this one.

I agree with a "1-in-3" chance, more or less.

I agree that Stevenson could score points with a ground-and-pound attack, but I don't think he's on a par with GSP and Matt Hughes. BJ's standup is way ahead of Stevenson's, and I'll be surprised if Stevenson can take BJ down.

Like everybody says, Stevenson's best chance - possibly his only chance - is to take cover and avoid getting killed in the first 2 rounds, then use his strength and conditioning to keep control on the ground. I could see him winning a Split Decision that way, much like GSP did, but I think it's a long shot.

I think this will look like Hughes-GSP II, with Stevenson getting worn down and TKO'd in the 2nd or 3rd.

I personally think that joe daddy is the matt hughes of the LW division. i think that he is in fact on par with hughes and i think his style will create problems for BJ. here is what i said in another post:

Joe Daddy Stevenson

this young fighter has progressed by leaps and bounds throughout his 35 fight career. He is incredibly strong for the LW division and his JJ seems to get better and better every time i see him in the octagon. i really think he is well versed on the ground and he does have dangerous hands...just ask Yves Edwards. i feel that Joe daddy is the Matt Hughes of the WW division except with a better ground game (sean sherk just LnP so he is in a different category). that and the fact that he has tremendous cardio are the reasons why i think he will be able to defeat BJ Penn. Penn has gassed out in his last few fights that went to 3 rounds. i think that Joe daddy will be able to defeat him in the same way that Matt Hughes did by just amounting pressure until the Hawaiian gasses and leaves himself open. i see joe daddy bringing this into the later rounds where his superior strength and cardio will give him the edge he needs for victory through a GnP that BJ wont be able to defend against. i think styles make fights and in this fight i just see joe daddy winning...i know i will get a lot of people who strongly disagree but please be nice it is just my opinion.

well I wouldnt chuckle, I don't think it'll be that close of a fight, and i most certainly don't think this is a mismatch. I guess I just sort of think that Daddy's not quite there yet. Awsome wrestler and athlete, Bj tho is something else

I'v gone with joe split decision. I think he'll out-last BJ an then try to G&P him.
