TOKYO, Dec. 23 -- As first reported by Sherdog.com on Friday, the anticipated New Year's Eve fight between Shinya Aoki and Gesias Calvancante has been cancelled.
The announcement was made at a press conference Sunday at the DEEP Dojo in Tokyo. Joining the fighters was Yarennoka! executive committee representative Keiichi Sasahara.

This is unfortunate, as it was one of the only compelling fights on this card. Now I don't know what M-1 will do. But at least they still have Fedor against The Giant Man...

I was really looking forward to this fight....
but at least we still get to see Kawajiri, Melendez, Ishida, Sakurai, Akiyama, and Azeredo....also are Aleks and Arona and Roman all officially on this card, and if so...why havent there been any opponents named....
