Former TUF winner Michael Bisping, dropping to Middleweight after fighting at Light Heavyweight, appears to have his first MW fight set. He says he will fight TUF alum Charles McCarthy on March 8 in London.

Correction: This means Bisping's next fight would actually be at Cage Rage 25 in London.

Yeah im confused about those dates etc cos UFC 82 is in Ohio around that time

LOL he cant have been dropped and be going back to Cage Rage! Would be FAF if he had tho

Bringing these guys like Elvis and McCarthy back to lose to Bisping must be embarrassing for him, god i hate being british with him as our greatest fighter we are supposed to support, heres hoping it backfires and Chainsaws long layoff will see him good and he can take care of Bisping

Heres to getting Semtex and The Colossus in the UFC

Yeh, becouse its totally Bispings fault who the ufc choose for him to fight.. Its the first time hes fought at MW, who would you prefer he fought? rich? anderson? Give the guy a break. Its not even like mcarthys a total bum, i think hes a decent fighter. I cant believe you want him to lose becouse of a decision out of his hands, its pretty lame imo. People really need to cut the guy some slack, all i can see that hes done which could legitimatly upset anybody are the comments he made telling hammil to go back to wrestling, and until you've just won your biggest fight at that point in the biggest mma org in the world, then you cant tell me you know youd be alble to hold your tounge with all that adrenaline pumping through you.

I know the mw division is very lackluster but really McCarthy? They could have atleast went to the middle of the division instead of the bottom. Leben, Quarry or even Demian Maia would have been better to start with, because what does it prove if he can beat McCarthy?? Not much! Bisping wasn't horrible at LHW, just not up to par with the top yet. So, one would figure they would atleast give him some credit in MW, but it looks like they are trying to stuff a win down his throat to legitamize his move down to mw. I think Bisping will do well at mw and can be in the top of the division, but I don't see him beating Silva, Henderson, Franklin or Marquardt.

give him someone he is s'posed to beat and see how he does

im thinking this is an easier opponent for him because no one knows how hes going to do now that he has to do serious weight cutting. hes new to it and im sure both he and the ufc want to know if A) he can make the weight, and B) if he looks weakened after cutting.

March? Thats a bit quick after the Newcastle one. So that would be UFC 82 or 83?

This is kind of disappointing for his MW debut. Why does he get so many cans. He finally gets two half decent opponent in Hammill and Rashad, and then they give him another can. I guess he needs it after losing to Rashad and winning a terrible decision which a lot of people think he should have lost to Hammill. Hopefully he won't get as many easy fights to start off MW as he did at LHW. If he beats Charles give him a tough fight. Even Lutter would be good.

If this is Cage Rage like I think it is now (I edited my second post because I initially said it could be a UFC event, then saw the CR event when I checked dates), it sounds like it's a bit of a "booked to win" fight to me, although McCarthy isn't exactly a pushover. Bisping still would have to be careful about going to the ground because all 10 of McCarthy's wins are by sub/tap, so that's where Charles could have a notable advantage.

i doubt the ufc would let hm fight outside their organization, or charles captain miserable is his opponent for bisping.

I dont see any problem with this fight.....Its going to be bispings first time actually having to cut some serious weight so i could see Chainsaw subing him if it makes it to round two or three Bisping could easly gas due to his first weight drop....If the fight gos past round One i see Chainsaw winning by submission.....
