This match is stupid. Wasn't Kongo supposed to fight Nogueira a while back? He just beat CC and now he's getting put in with McCully. He's gonna wreck him if he learned any takedown defense training with Rampage.

He should really be getting a tougher opponent. McCully will take a beating in this fight IMO.

Why the step back for Kongo, because this is deffinately no step up. This has to be a low blow for Kongo, there was a glimpse of him fighting Nog next and Big Tim calling him out his last fight, you would think a better opponent would be deserved. I hate this for Kongo, because I know he can knock McCully out if it stays up, but with Kongos lack luster take down D he is going to get blanketed for 15 min. If Kongo is going to lose a fight after beating Cro Cop he deserves to be beat by a much superior opponent then mccully. WAR KONGO!!!!

Kongo is not a threat on the ground, biggest understatment ever, he has no sprawl at all and has no defence must less offense on the ground.
The only thing that saves Kongo is that he has already beat people that held him on the ground for 15 minutes via their inactivity on the ground and he few landed strikes while the opponent was rushing him for the takedown.
Kongo wins via decision but is another boring fight, If he fight a good submission fighter, heck even Mir could take him out. Kongo beating CC sucks because casual fans thinks he is amazing but any wrestler can make him unimpressive

You guys forget things pretty quickly. Cro Cop had Kongo mounted in the first round and with basic JJ he could have gotten an arm bar easily, but for whatever reason he didn't go for it. Cro Cop is not a wrestler by any means and McCully would easily be able to LnP to a UD victory.

Can somebody explain to me why Kongo is considered to be the next best thing to ever grace this planet? Granted, he's a huge dude with very competitive striking, but this is MMA, not kick-boxing!
His first fight against Carmelo Marerro (a decent college wreslter) was a complete embarrassment. In his second fight in the UFC Kongo looked pretty silly being repeatedly taken down by Assuerio Silva who's not even a wreslter at all! Kongo was lucky to win by a split decision. He was not subbed purely due to his huge size and strength. With all the honesty, his next fight against Cro Cop was a modified Muay Thai match. Yes, they ended up on the ground a few times, but neither one really liked it down there.
Kongo needs to show that he's more than a huge kick-boxer. I think this fight is a great match for him.

He has a lot of training and re-education to become a MMA fighter that is why it sucked that he beat CC, can someone please teach him to Sprawl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha Ass Silva. I remember that fight though Kongo got slammed over and over and they kept getting stood up becuase Silva wouldn't do anything. I guess it all depends on whether or no McCully is active on the ground. If the ref stands them up he's in danger until he gets his next takedown
