Hunter Brown was attacked on Saturday with a "sharp-edged" weapon, then left to die in his neighbour's driveway, his stack of Christmas cards lying beside him.

Police say Brown was a random victim.
Trevor James Lapierre, 22, is to appear in court today on charges of first-degree murder. He was apprehended in the back of a taxi in Kitchener by police and was reportedly with another person at the time.

Lapierre is also charged with assault following an attack on a 35-year-old man on Saturday. The man was able to fend off the assailant partly with the use of a snow shovel, according to police.

I agree that this was sad, but you unfortunately read stories like this in the newspaper every Sunday. I really feel for this man's family, but I don't see what is so special about this one. I'm not trying to sound unsympathetic, but I can read about this somewhere else.

Thats why i dont like watching the news...I just hate hearing people waking to their house burnt down,or even worse being killed in that fire...I especially feel bad for young women, and children....

My mom is a news freak..she cant live without her news(and coffee ),but what sucks about that is that she always wants to share the latest news with me when i talk to her...so I just end up feeling really bad for the victims, and hatred for the criminals.

Murderers and Rapists should be put in the ring or cage with someone their own size for 3 rounds... ....the only downside to this will be that the fighter he'll face will be a murderer himself after he's done with him

Most of those fucking guys are popping Vicodin and drinking and before you know it they’re crashing."

Put Jeffrey Dahmer in there with Chuck Liddell and see how it turns out.

i felt bad for the same reasons that others have stated. this horror story just seemed kind of run of the mill as these things go and i wondered if he was related or something to the op.

anyways the op should be proud of himself for not lumping everything he reads into the same category of yet another horror story and and being moved by it as it is certainly a terrible thing.

It wouldn't be a very exciting fight seeing how Dahmer is already dead. I would take Chuck very early KO.

Wow, guys. I would expect a little more from you guys during the holidays. True, some people feel that these are everyday occurrences, and I couldnt argue. The proper thing to do would be move past the thread if you feel this way, dont you think? Why post about how you could care less? Just seems a little cold for this time of year. You dont have to share everyones opinion, but that doesnt mean you have to voice yours... Sometimes its best just to keep moving.

Well said. Kudos, brother.
