Andrei Arlovski appeared at the HDNet Fights show in Dallas, Tx last night. And made a brief statement at the post fight press conference regarding his status.
“I will fight very soon,” Arlovski stated about his fight career.
According to MMAWeekly.com, sources close to Arlovski have stated that they are waiting out his UFC contract which according to them expires in April and at that time will move to another organization.

I think him going to M-1 would be great. He could fight fedor and since M_1 is based out of Russia he can fight closer to his orginal home. If M-1 picks up him Ben Rothwell and Josh Barrnet they could have a decent Hw division.

wow if these is for real, i think its a huge mistake for the UFC, not only becuase i think andrei has alot of talent and there are alot of match ups that would create alot of interest like fighting guys like noguiera, cro cop, vera, cheick kongo....and i still think he could rise to the top and if not champ he could be a contender..........but also becuase he will draw alot of attention to where he will fight, because if he goes to M-1 they will start to get some serious talent up there and M-1 could possibly become a threat to the ufc in the near furtue, signing guys like fedor and arlovski, with guys like arona, josh barnett, hunt, and all the guys that were left out from pride , i see M-1 possibly being a problem for the ufc.....
but who knows, i hope he stays with the ufc.....

It is bad for the UFC, but great for M-1 if they can capitalize on the HW free agents that are on the Market. I want to see some1 challenge the UFC i think eventually some1 will have to, there can't just be one dominate org. The UFC should have kept Pride running so they wouldn't have to deal with anyone competeing with them.

I don't think keeping pride running would've kept competition away.

It would have at least kept all the guys that didn't join the UFC from going to another org. and helping them grow.

Not necessarily because those weren't exclusive contracts. And UFC woulda had the ability to raid PRIDE's roster leaving PRIDE w/ only the low tier guys. That, imo, would've opened the door the same way.

I like Arlovski, but the UFC heavyweight division will be fine without him.

The only thing that bothers me about this is it's becoming a growing trend. Randy left, AA might, Hendo might, Lindland and Fedor won't sign, ect. I just don't understand why the UFC has put AA "on the bench".

wrong move by the UFC. When Andrei is on, he has the ability to beat anybody. He has all the physical tools. As a fan tho it's good to see them fight in other places and bring excitement to different shows. I like variety.

AA is one of my favorites and what the UFC did to him after the Werdum was complete BS.
I dont blame him if he does go, but UFC should do everything they can to convince him to stay and then actually use him like they should.

they put him on the bench cause he only has one fight left on his contract and ufc wont let u fight it unless u resign. which sux cause hes my fav fighter and is a freakin beast.
