Welcome back to MMA Talk. It is time for my second installment of rankings. This time I will go with what I consider the toughest division to rank: Light Heavyweight Division. There is a clear cut number 1 but everyone after that is a jumbled mess.

This guy really knows what he is talking about, and I thought I'd share his blog with the good people of MMA Playground. Enjoy!

Yeah, he lost me at listing Mike Whitehead in the same category (and higher ranked) as Lil Nog.

After putting Rampage at the top, the rest of the spots are a fill it in for the LHW division. Basically, you just put guys in there. We have some fights that will figure out some things coming up, but right now it's any body's opinion on where you put guys.

I also don't really agree with Jardine at number 2, but you could make a case for him there.

And if you don't know Mike Whitehead, then maybe you should watch some IFL.

"You just put guys in there?" Sorry, but if that's how it works then I have to give it zero credibility. True, it might be just one person's opinion and I respect that, but that's not the best way to do rankings.

Seen plenty. The guy is still way off on that list... Thats ridiculous, but Im sure that only 99% of the world agrees.

Its kinda fun that in the last year the lhw rankings have gotten all screwed up with the exception that at some point, we have to create a top10 and decide on a contender. Jardine.. no2? because he had a good win over forrest and close decision over a fading chuck liddel? When we have a year like this, we have to take into consideration the wins that people have had in the past, the opponents that people have beat, and their performance in those matches.

Think of it this way, if forrest had lost to shogun, would jardine be ranked number 2? Its slack when people try to use MMA math

thiago>houston>jardine>griffin>shogun>rampage>henderson>silva

doesnt that mean that thiago should be at the top of the list? or wait.. rampage is the unified champion.. so put thiago at no2. Forrest had a great showing over a poorly prepared shogun in poor health, I personally dont even agree with ranking forrest over shogun.. you gotta take a fighter's resume into account when deciding who the best 10 205lb fighters in the world are. I'm pretty sure that most of the top15 would destroy the number2 guy on this list.

99% agree that he shouldnt be on that list?? You must have rounded down!

I think if any IFL LHW should be on there it should be Vladimir Matyushenko.

The list isnt extremely bad; but it still sucks.

Nobody on the IFL should be on there until they fight real comp. and not a bunch of has beens....

I think team MMA is dumb, the IFL has open us up to some possible serious contenders but unil some of these guys fight in the UFC it's all for not. Smoke screen.
