so forget the olympics, what about world championships. this could get all the best fighters from all of the organizations without technically breaching any contracts since it wouldn't be a competition among promoters and there would be no company belts onthe line. it would be country against country. each country sends their top ranked mma fighter in each weight class (lw,ww,mw,lhw,hw,shw) . 8 total fighters in each weight will be allowed. those 8 will be ranked according to their world rankings which would set up fights. 1 / 8, 2 / 7, 3 / 6, 4 / 5. just like a playoff system until the last fighter ( and undisputed champion is left standing. so there would be 4 fights in each weight class and 6 fights on each card. im not sure of the rules anymore when i comes to how often a fighter can fight in a specified amount of time. maybe there would be 2 weeks in between each fight and its a 1 month process. an unbiased governing body would have to be set up.

hey we could set this up as a post and have everyone make their picks like the ncaa tournament. only we'll call the winner of each hypathetical fight the ones with the highest % of picks among us (and we wouldnt post the picks % until voting was closed) then at least on this site we would have what we feal are the best fighters in each weight class and the rankings for the contenders.

i can say it but im not organized enough to do it

yeah there could be a world cup of MMA like there is in other sports. Or just world Championships.
You gotta add in FW though if its the hole world. Make it so there are so many countries and each fighter fights tournament style over 2 weeks or somethin.
You would have to keep it a small number of fighters though. Maybe 8 or 16. Fighting in a tournament any bigger than that is insane.

yeah. so with FW that would be 7 fights on the championship card which would be awsome for the fans (no organization could ever put together a better card). i figure with 8 fighters in each class youd have a 4 fight tournament with 2 weeks between the first 2 fights (1 week to recover / 1 week to train) and 3 weeks between till the last fight. the tournament would last 6 weeks.
week 1- 28 fights (4 in each class),
week 2- 14 fights (2 in each class),
week 3- 7 championship fights
