the hype was a bit over the top...but the dude backed it up. It was a great fight that until the big knee guida was winning. huerta showed a lot of heart even after getting discouraged by being taken down at will.

At this point, the backlash against the hype has exceeded the hype. So, no, I'm not tired of the hype around Huerta. In fact, I was rooting for him to win last night, in part so people would quit calling him over-hyped.

Lots of people were saying he would get dominated by Guida and get completely exposed. Looks like those people were way off.

Huerta may be good but if he fought a griffin or an edgar he'd get stomped. Actually in my opinion if he fought guida against he'd lose a decision.
dont even get me started on what sherk would do to him.

Looks to me there is a reason to a all the hype. First off I picked Guida to win via U.D. I gave Rd.1 to Huerta - he was winning the stand up game sure he got taken down but Clay could not hold him down or get off any real damage. Rd.2 was all Guida - he got the take down and even rocked Roger. And we all know how Rd. 3 played out. My point is Huerta didn't get lucky wasn't out getting dominated as some people would like to believe. He looked great they had the fight of the night and I think he is well deserving of all the attention and "HYPE" that he is receiving. So please stop hating and give the man his props!

I've been reading in alot of threads that huerta was gettin dominated before he one.Especially at Sherdog.Net . Sure Guida was winning the first two rounds, granted, but Huerta wasnt doing bad at all. He had some pretty close submission atempts and his striking was just as good as Guida's. Guida just had lots of good takedowns followed my many good reversal's on Huerta's part. It really pisses me off to see all the Huerta hate.

Interesting...
I think Guida is one of the best LW's out there... if Huerta can hang with Guida and pull off a submission victory (despite being outwrestled) at his young age then I think guys like Griffin, Edgar, and Sherk are in big trouble when he gets older and has even more experience and skill..
Huerta is the future at LW..

I am not trying to knock the guy as a fighter, but all these commercials with the UFC voice over guy using the "epic voice" calling Huerta a "Latin Sensation"... c'mon the toughest guy he beat was a new comer from Alaska that one one expected to do as well as he did. Thats just my opinion and i would love to hear all of yours. Who do you think has been Huerta's biggest challenge, and do you think he will bet Guida on Sat? (and i know that anything can happen so theres always the chance.. im not trying to say 10 out 10 times Guida stomps Huerta but...it would be nice)
Do you beleive the HYPE now !?!
