Do you really believe he would give up his career in the WWE to join UFC without putting any thought into it? He has had top quality training and even if he were to lose this next fight, it means nothing because noone can win them all. Instead of trying to write the guy off why not wait and let his fighting do the talking?

An objective look at Lesnar's record (i.e. one fight) does not omit him from the UFC. Many of the TUF guys fight their first official UFC fight with only a few fights prior or in the case with Corey Hill, none!
Conversely, just because a fighter has 20 fights and may even be undefeated doesn't mean they are any more/less ready for the UFC. Reinhart anyone?
IMO, the bottom line is this:
1) Lesnar is well known and will draw, potentially, part of the WW audience to MMA. That is a big deal with respect to money.
2) Lesnar's amateur wrestling credentials and an MMA win give him some credibility. In fact, I consider him to have more of a pedigree than Brad Imes when he started out.
I personally would take a person with a SOLID base like judo, wrestling or muay thai (to name a few) and little or no MMA fights than a person with a couple years of MMA training and a few fights.

I have a few issues with all of this Lesnar talk.
1) Please everyone on this site read this! WE ALL KNOW WWE IS FAKE! Everyone keeps talking about it like its some sort of breaking news and its a big deal he came from a TV show. Enough about WWE, we all know its fake...everyone knows.
2) Everyone who keeps saying "I don't understand why everyone thinks Lesnar is so great" can stop with that crap as well. Read some posts on this board...the people who think he is overrated greatly outnumbers those who think he will be great
3) He is a great athlete with tremendous strength/speed and all that, but most people in the UFC are great athletes.
4) NCAA National Championships do count for something, its impressive, but again, by now we all know this.
5) The fight is in FREAKIN FEBRUARY, for all we know he could get injured in training or Mir could. I expect it to be a great fight with Mir winning, but lets wait until January to start hyping it up.
Thanks

U dont get drafted to the ufc! stupid. but yeah he hasn't done any of the things the mma legends have done yet, but thats only because he's had one fight. and yeah his 1st opponent wasnt very good, but most people don't start out fighting chuck liddell, or randy couture or Fedor. Chuck Liddells 1st oppponent is 4-5 Randy Coutures 1st opponent is 0-1 (sherdog so it might be a little off) fedor emelianenkos 1st opponent is 0-2 And all 3 of them went on to become great. so why cant brock? he's a tremendous athlete, a great amatuer wrestler. and yeah he was great in wwe! much better than a guy we like to call the Worlds Most Dangerous man, was.

I can see your arguments. The only thing I have against Brock is his inexperience. Someone was right when they said "WWF fans are the only true nutthuggers who actually thinks he'll come in and be champion in 2-3 fights." But I think he will be UFC HW champion One Day. He has incredible size and incredible wrestling. To just sit there and say he's just a pro wrestler and not good at the amateur level is an amateur statement. Like another person said. Two time National amateur wrestling champion at his weight class. That's just SOOOOO pro wrestling right there. I bet that was scripted and planned.
NOT! I've seen Brock in WWE, have seen some of his amateur matches. Have seen his interviews and have seen tons of bio's across the internet. The man WAS going to go into MMA before but it wasn't big then. He was struggling with money and the WWE was the only clear choice. He was training jui-jit-su while he was in college. So he has submission defense. He even said he was training all types of martial arts before and during his WWE career. This guy is the real deal IMO. He's stronger, bigger, and a better wrestler the most if not all in the division.
Take in effect the big ass chin that will probably be able to take some hard shots. He probably will have huge KO power. I him KOing Mir early if Mir actually thinks he's a better striker and gets caught or whenever Brock takes it to the ground he'll be able to control Mir with entertaining ground and pound(Face it NO LNP. He's a entertainer at Heart from WWE, that's the only thing he got there so if the crowd boos LNP you def believe he's gonna make it entertaining) and he will wear mir down with that GNP and eventually stop him late..
Lesnar by late 2nd or 3rd round TKO via GNP

I really dont think Lesnar is the "great athlete" everyone is claiming. He is big...good, i wouldnt call him fast by any means. his inexpeirience wil be his downfall. i dont hope that Mir hurts him, but Mir's BJJ will kill all of lesnar's hopes and Dreams. i am caling it Mir by tapout via a choke of some sort. lesnars strength won't get him out of this one. if the UFC wanted to get some money out of this COW they should hav e put him up wagainst Brad Imes or somone of that caliber. Mir's composure and skills will win this one for him

Your missing the point completely, No one is saying if you have your first fight with a bad fighter that you cant become good. We are saying you shouldnt get signed for only having one fight against a bad fighter. Get it yet?

The UFC would have been stupid to not bring him right in. What if he sucks? If he got beat elsewhere they wouldn't have the chance to be his pimp and get the money from his fights. He is potentially more marketable than anyother heavyweight on the planet. and the UFC wants to ensure that they get a peice.

Good clip!
Anyone who thinks Brock isn't fast, or isn't an athlete should read what the Minnisota Vikings staff said about him. When someone in that position says a person is "the most physically gifted athlete I've ever seen", theres something to be said for that.

It'll be interesting to see the "I told you so" thread after the Lesnar fight.
Regardless of the outcome it's going to happen.

Yea, thats pretty much it. Its sad that the money is more important in the sport right now but I guess in the end it something we have to put up with.
