TAGG Radio announced yesterday that TAGG Radio sponsored fighter Gilbert Melendez will be taking on Mitsuhiro Ishida at Yarennoka on New Year’s Eve in Japan.

This is a very good fight and this card is shaping up to be a good one. Too bad it won’t be available to watch in the U.S.

They are pretty retarded in Japan about getting USA PPV deals, the last PRIDE event was the 1st ever live one wasnt it?

Errrm WHY THE F*** are there no replies to this thread yet the crappy Saunders wants a rematch thread is crawling with posts, must be a lot of tuf noobs in today

Well anyway i will debate this fight with myself, i wonder how long Gilbert has been training for? thought his broken hands would take longer to heal

Ishida is a perfect step up for him and i hope he wins, but he needs someone to fight in Strikeforce, he just needs to work that contract out then get to the UFC ASAP

May i just add that i hate using the term "tuf noob" and im sure the people who posted in that thread arent, it was just crazy to me when i looked at the main page and this thread had 0 replies yet that one had 5

Whats a bigger fight? Melendez VS Ishida or Saunders VS Speers

One of my best friends trains up in frisco with jake and gil. he has been going live for some time now. he told me about this match up a few weeks ago, but wanted it to be hush hush before it was actually announced. im am looking forward to this fight a whole lot as both of these guys like to bang and bring the pace. i have gil by decision. they should have the winner of this fight the winner of aoki-JZ.

I gotta say I disagree that Ishida is a step up. I would count Kawajiri as being better than him in every aspect. If anything, Ishida's a step down.

Should be a good fight as long as it lasts, but the Hispanic 'Fro is going to be too much for Ishida.

Im surprised nobody thinks Ishida will win, he could pull off the upset
