I saw it on YOU tube earlier today before I went to PT, and was kinda shocked no one had made thread about it when I got back. I was just listening to the savage dog show PODcast, which reminded me to check for a thread on it. . I know it wasn't on the broadcast, but I bet they wish it was. If someone doesn't post it up soon( it was gone from youtube as of 10 ,minutes ago) this is the only time I would recommend that people actually pay UFC on demand the money to watch it. They deserved every penny of their bonuses . It's a crime the cut had to stop it, even Alves didn't seem happy with the stoppage. That fight shows why the UFC should keep Lytle win or lose. I knew he had a lot of heart, but now I think it and his sack, are gigantic. Alves is a comer too IMO, reminds me of a smaller, stockier Wilson Gouvea with those leg kicks.

That was a great fight and I was glad to see Alves was able to make it out the victor. Lytle showed some heart though and ill be happy to see him fight again next time.

No one mentioned it because:

1) It was a prelim fight so most people did not see it.

2) It was overshadowed by T. Silva exposing Alexander's weak ground game.

3) People were too busy hating on Rashad Evans.

You pick.

Lytle is much like Clay Guida in that if he signs to fight, you know the other guy will be sore the next day, win or lose.

He is a great fighter, and a good guy to have representing the sport.

Yeah it was great for sure. I usually don't think JUST stand-up fights are that interesting but this one was awesome! The technique displayed showed that these to warriors are world class and are not just slugging a´la Garcia - Huerta.
Alves low-kicks were amazing to watch and Lytle put together really nice combinations. I didn't know who was going to win.

I'd like to see a rematch, but they should make it a 5-round fight. I wanna see more of this.

I have always been a fan of "Lights Out." Why the UFC doesn't keep him is beyond me. Dude has heart, will fight at a moments notice and give his all. A true warrior

i want to see alves face marcus davis. i know that davis is scheduled against travis and we''ll see how he'll do, but i love both fighters and i think they both have explosive stand up and from what i have seen a formidable ground game with solid JJ. alves v davis would be an exciting bout as well and i am interested on how that would turn out as both fighters are true warriors and always put on a great show and seem to improve every time they step in the octagon. as for lytle, i think chonan would be a could fight for him and would be a good test for 'lights out'.

its a shame when the fight of the night is a prelim, but who knew that it would end up by far the most exciting. im thinking lytle will be around in the next few months to try and get back in the W column, say what you want about dana but he rewards the guys that give the fans what they want---good action packed fights.
