There is no place for gang signs in the XC. I did not see the face, but I believe it was Nate Diaz that threw up gang signs when Nick Diaz was preparing to fight. I believe that no organization should allow that, and they should be punished for that. There is no place in ANY MMA organization for that type of bull shit! If you want to throw gang signs or neighborhood signs up, leave that for the neighborhood, and not in sports. In general, it makes it look like a bunch of thugs fight MMA.

From what I saw he put up an east coast gang sign, weird since he comes from california. I agree with the op though, I think both of the Diaz' are bad for the sport.

Post a picture of the 'gang' sign and I'll tell you what it is. Hand signs are extremely popular in the hip-hop community, not just reserved for street gangs or neighborhood 'turfs' anymore. It probably wasn't even a gang sign, Nate and Nick probably took up a sign language class so they could coach eachother from the audience.

Yeah I agree, hand signals are popular in Hip Hop culture, most notably when someone is repping up their gang...

I agree with cmill, the Diaz brothers, particularly Nick with his vocal pro-illicit substances stance, looks really unprofessional. If an olympic athelete started talking about his love of drug abuse then he'd go down in flames!

It wasn't a gang sign, it was a Stockton, Lodi sign. Nothing wrong with being proud of where you came from.

lol I'm from Regina SK,
and I used to play basketball, and everyone would throw up this 306 sign.
no one really took offense to that. But then again most people that seen it where from regina.

It looked like the east coast E, that BIG and other east coast rappers used to use. I don't really care, if people don't know guess what it looks like a gang sign. People wonder why mma is seen as human cock fighting, or nothing but a bunch of brainless thugs punching each other.

Probably the most ridiculous thing I've read in awhile. What do you suppose we judge them on?
