If marcus davis beats jess liaudin, then i think he should get a title shot seen as he has put together 5 straight wins in the ufc. great contender. And future ufc champ, i bet ya'll.

Ya, its already been decided after GSP and Kos fought for the next title shot. After that though, ya Fitch should fight once more, im liking the idea of marcus davis, but honestly Karo should get a crack sooner or later too. Maybe after GSP fights one of the Matts, then Fitch and Karo can battle it up for the next title fight. thats my 2 cents

Either Karo for the HUGE undeserving wait or Fitch for the freakin dominance streak....
I don't think GSP deserves one just yet. He's had one fight. It was against Kos who wasn't at all at his best. He didn't even train his strength whcih was wrestling. Had a horrible gameplan and even though I am a fn of his he is no where close to the title picture so just because he beat Kos don't mean he gets a title shot...
I say GSP vs Fitch or Karo and whoever doesent fight gets the next title shot and then the winner gets the next one!!!

As much as I think it should be Fitch, its guarenteed Pierre gets it.
I dont mind that at all though, it sets up a better chance for some great potential fights
If Hughes wins we get to see GSP/Hughes 3! If Serra wins we get to see GSP/Serra 2 so GSP can get the rematch he wants and KO Serra.
If Jon Fitch went first it jsut wouldnt be a big enough event. But he will get a shot soon. He will just have to wait until the next two title fights happen andhe will get a shot.

Actually they might make Fitch fight the winner of Karo/Ryo fight. That would make the most sense if after Serra/Hughes is GSP/Champ.

Karo is by far the most deserving person for the ww title shot. he was supposed to get his shot at 56 but he got hurt and had to pull out. and when he came back he didn't get his shot. so he definitly deserves it.

As big a fan of GSP as I am, I'm going to surprise everybody and vote for Fitch.
Now, I'm not saying that Fitch is a better fighter than St. Pierre. I think a fit and motivated GSP would defeat a fit and motivated Fitch.
Simply put, a title shot should be something you have to earn, not something you deserve.
What really should happen, imho, is that Fitch and St. Pierre should battle for "#1 Contender Status" around the same time as the Hughes-Serra fight. The winner of that fight would then have defeated two Top 10 guys in a row, which is part of my "rule of thumb" for earning a title shot. And Fitch, if he defeated St. Pierre, would have won eight UFC fights in a row, which is almost unheard-of.

Fair point. I'd be happy to see Parisyan-v-Fitch for "#1 Contender Status", alongside GSP-v-Chonan. Again, the winner of Parisyan-Fitch would then have defeated two Top-10 guys consecutively. Then, if GSP defeated Chonan, he'd be one Top-10 fight away from a title shot.

im pretty sure GSP will get the next shot, but i think if karo wins against chonan he is more deserving, and i think that fitch may also be more deserving than gsp right now. im guessing after the karo/chonan fight we will see the winner of that face fitch for the #1 contender spot. im guessing we are going to see some big time WW fights over the next year or so, and the belt may not stay with any one guy for too long.

Fitch is well deserving of his ranking right now, but unfortunately the top man he beat was Sanchez, who was beaten by Koscheck. So you have GSP who has beaten Koscheck that deserves the shot. Serra and Hughes will be fighting for the title, then afterwards the winner of serra/hughes will fight GSP for the title. At the same time GSP fights for the title Fitch fights Serra if he loses or Karo if Serra wins. (Because Matt Hughes will get bumped down lower than #1 contendor, since right now he is #1 contendor in UFC's eyes)
Jeez I lost myself along the way there but I really have thought about this a lot and in some way, shape or form it all sort of makes sense. Basically the problem as far as I see it is that you've got four guys right now deserving a title shot- Hughes, GSP, Karo, and Fitch. Hughes is obviously getting his, GSP will be getting his next, and Karo and Fitch are debatable, but I think Fitch deserves it more. Problem is that Fitch needs to beat somebody who has beaten Koscheck or he has to beat Koscheck himself before I can consider him (or Karo for that matter) #1 contendor status.
So what do we need, then? I guess Karo vs. Koscheck somewhere in the middle there. If Karo beats Koscheck, then Fitch and Karo have to go at it. If Koscheck beats Karo, then Fitch is in #1 spot. Fitch then fights Serra if Serra loses, or he is then in #1 contendorship status if Serra wins.
God I hope that makes sense and doesn't make me come off as a complete idiot. I feel like my head is going to explode

While Davis certainly seems to have turned a corner in 2007, I don't think he's earned a title shot. I'd like to see him fight somebody like Josh Burkman, Diego Sanchez, or Akihiro Gono.
