Chuck says anytime they (UFC and Pride) can get the details worked out it's on but so far the word is no luck on that.
Wonder if it is going to happen some day?
What do you think and then the big question: What will be the outcome of a Silva Liddell fight?
My vote is for Chuck!

If ever the fight occurs, that would surely be a big event. As far as the two fighters are concerned, they both say anytime is a good time. I hope it pushes through as I like to watch them both on the same stage.
I like how Silva entertains the fans more. So I'll have my bet on him.

Not necessarily, Silva is relatively unknown in the US to the average UFC fan, hence the reaction from the crowd (none whatsoever) when he came out to announce the fight.
Chuck - Griffin or Chuck - Rashad etc would probably sell alot more ppv's than Chuck - Silva. Sounds ridiculous to probably anybody who really follows MMA but unfourtunatley it's true.

I doubt this fight will ever happen ,unless Silva actually leaves pride. If it did, I firmly beleive Chuck would knock him out in the first round. Not because Siva is a bad fighter. He's great, but his style is ideally suited to Chuck. He tries to come forward and overwhelm people. Chuck is a great counterpuncher , who destroys people while backing up. The only time Silva show's a lack of agression is with people who have the intention and skill for takedowns. Also, While both have great chins, I beleive Chuck's his better. He has never been knocked out. Silva has been knocked out by Belfort and Cro-cop. However, if pride could work out a way to send over Shogun I think he would give Chuck all he could handle. I'd call that a 50/50 fight I'd love to see. Either fight would make me happy though.

It's all about the hype! No doubt that the UFC could make HUGE hype about a Liddell/Silva match up. More so than against Griffin or Rashad. UFC would call this a Superfight.
Asuming that both Pride and UFC were not promoting it together (I think they would cross promote that one) there would still be Prides fan base ordering that UFC event. All of the normal UFC fans will order any Liddell PPV add the Pride only fans and you get big numbers.
It would be the biggest MMA PPV on record IMO.

In the US would you not say that any Pride fan would generally be a UFC fan also and be ordering the event anyway? There are more TUF fans than there are Pride in America surely, correct me if i'm wrong.
I didn't think UFC was avaliable in Japan on PPV or is it? If it wasn't then I don't see why Pride would make the effort to promote it, plus Pride and UFC would have to agree to split the revenue from the card, very complicated. Either way unfourtunately looks like we will never know

In a cage = Chuck In a ring = Wandy
I guess what I mean is UFC rules = Chuck and PRIDE rules = Silva.
Anybody who says that Wandy doens't stand a chance against Chuck, either is in love with Chuck or has never seen Wanderlei fight. It would be an all out war, and a very close fight. They are both warriors, so I wouldn't count either out.
Chuck is a counter puncher and one of the best in the game at it, but Wanderlei is a tornado of fists, feet, knees, and animalistic agression (with top notch cardio). It's pretty tough to find a good opportunity to sneak in a counter.
Wanderlei has a fantastic chin as well (and maybe the best recovery in MMA), but if Chuck lands one of those looping right hooks or his evil right cross, it's bed time for Silva.
I think the one deciding factor would be Chucks punching power vs. Wandy's clinch. You ain't gonna GnP the iceman, but if he caught him in that vice of a thai clinch it could produce the same result as Franklin vs A. Silva. Tough to call either way.
got a little wordy, sorry about that, but I think this is any MMA fans dreamfight, and I hope we can all see it some day.

the sad part is, wanderlei fought in the ufc a few years back. what does that say about the "average UFC fan"? im sure most of the people on this board remember wandy get ko'ed by vitor belfort in his prime -- its usually included in the greatest k.o. reels. he also lost to tito ortiz for a vacant light hw belt.
