If Bisping wants a second chance,he's gotta start by admitting he lost that fight, imo.

I thought Bisping lost as well. I also (as much as it pained me) agreed with Matt Hughes that Ben and Dan should have gone to a third round a couple of weeks ago on the ultimate fighter, that is until I watched it again.

Anyone else remember this fight? Dana White said it was the worst judging he had ever seen. I thought it was clear cut, Dan winning the first and Ben winning the second. On further review I realized they both had knock downs in the first, it's just Dan's stuck out more because he stood over Ben instead of letting him stand back up. I now think Ben won definitively.

Anyway, my point is, because you can't TiVo UFC's, I didn't have the benefit of re-watching the Bisping v. Hamill fight, so I'm not ready to say Bisping got dominated or anything like that. I'm curious if anyone who has been hating on Bisping has actually taken a second look at the fight. If so why don't you break down why you thought Hamill won?

Also, I don't get why everyone is so worried about Hamill getting disrespected. If respect is so important why didn't I see any one hating on Tito for saying he was going to make Evans his "nappy headed ho" or Hughes for making those comments about Canadians. Bisping and Hamill had beef from before and Bisping was probably still pumped up on adrenaline when he made his post fight comments. Also, when's the last time anyone's heard a fighter say he thought he lost when he won on the score card? The only occasion I can think of is when Spencer Fisher said he thought his latest fight against Sam Stout was a draw.

While I still think Hamill won (for now), I just don't understand all the anti-Bisping sentiment.

"when's the last time anyone's heard a fighter say he thought he lost when he won on the score card?"

That's part of the controversy.Add all three judges scores.

30-27 in favor of Hamill
29-28 Bisping
29-28 bisping

Add those numbers and Hamill still comes out scoring more points. At best,it should have been a draw.

And I think Rampage trying to hand Ninja his trophy prior to final conflict warrents a admitted defeat.

I have to say, I thought Bisping won the fight originally. After I got online and saw how everyone thought Hamil won, I went back and watched it again on my DVR, which is the same as Tivo, and it allows me to record the UFC PPVs. However, even after watching it again, I still came to the same conclusion. I gave Hamil the first round (and I dont think there is any question there) and Bisping rounds two and three based on the fact that in those rounds, yes, Hamil got some takedowns, but did not do anything when he got there and Bisping certainly outworked the tired Hamil on the feet. Im not saying Bisping did any significant damage either and I thought the fight was EXTREMELY close, but if I had to decide, I gave the nod to Bisping based on the fact that just that he outworked him in those later rounds.

Anyways, all that aside, I think as a professional fighter, it is necessary to buy in to your own hype a little. You need to truly believe you are the best (a la Phil Baroni) even if you can rationalize how it is possible for you to lose. I think it gives you a distinct advantage over your opponent when you have that sort of belief in yourself. Unfornuately that sometimes carries over in an in-opportune moment and Im not saying that is an excuse, because you should always strive to be a professional, Im just saying that given the nature of the sport, I can understand how it happens.

I was actually there and thought Hamil had won originally, when i watched it once i got back from London, i had Bisping winning round 2 barely, and cruising the 3rd. Its always gonna be a bone of contention, but Hamil shouldnt have let it go to the judges if he wanted the win so badly.

Yeah, but that's not how the scoreing system works. Two out of three thought Bisping won, It dosen't matter how they scored it.

"And I think Rampage trying to hand Ninja his trophy prior to final conflict warrents a admitted defeat." I never saw this, but that sounds like Rampage. My point was just that it is extremly rare.

I get what your saying, but I think the judging system should be changedt. While I still think Hamill won,I would have accepted that while he scored more points,Bisping won the fight in favor of two judges, therefore the fight is a draw.I think this rule could cause it's own contraversy down the road, but I would like to see it played out for awhile to see how it would work.
