Does anyone know why the UFC doesn't just provide us with the undercard fights on their PPVs? It may just boil down to money, but I would personally pay another $20 per event just to see some of the non-televised fights.

I was under the impression that the whole world of PPV's are tricky and it costs so much money just to add on another minute or two, let alone another fight.. The UFC tells the PPV people how much time they need, and set a certain amount of time, and then just go with it. If a fight ends short, they try to fill the space with another short fight from the undercard if possible, and if not (in cases where none of the prelims ended in the first round.), they pay someone like Forrest Griffin to talk via Satellite, or they go out into the crowd and talk to one of the fighters. Like in the case of the Maia/Jensen fight. It was the shortest fight from the UFC 77 prelims, and therefore it got shown after the main event.

I dont have a clue as to why, but you can always view them the following day on UFC OnDemand. And if you are willing to pay $20 more per event, then OnDemand will save you a few bucks. Plus you can view many other fights as well.

DVD sales would be my guess.

The UFC might want you to think that, but listening to Dana complain about the PPV people, I would assume my theory would be the correct one. I mean It just makes sense.. I would hope though that the UFC would expect more. I don't know how many people do, but I for one don't own a single UFC DVD. I usually watch the fights well, free.. and then I know who wins, and therefore don't need to see them again.

Dana White has already answered this question he said that, he only advertises the main card so those are the only fights he sells on pay per view he also says the prelim fights are a bonus for the people attending the live events and for the people who buy the dvds. They are also a back up in case all the main card fights end to soon then he will fill the free time with an under card fight.

i remember him answering this question a long time ago...

then explain a short ppv and an undercard where guys were finished in the first round, granted they usually show at least one undercard, but i think for 40$ we should get to watch the entire card ffs, IMO

OMG, i was getting so mad when they talked to Chuck and Forrest at that event. Forrest had this smug look on his face and kept looking down as if some chick was blowing him in the chair and chucks replies were all "yes" and "no"

UFC should show the lower card fights, half the time I end up buying the ppv to see a lower card fight to find they decided to cut that out for some stupid 20minute review since the main event ended.

WHY COULDNT I SEE GRAY MAYNARDS 9 SECOND KO! SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THEY COULDNT SHOW THAT FIGHT
