Former champion B.J. Penn (11-4-1 MMA, 7-3-1 UFC) and “The Ultimate Fighter 2” winner Joe Stevenson (28-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will fight for the interim UFC lightweight championship at UFC 80 in January.

This fight is BJ all the way... After he's done with Sherk, BJ should move up in weight and try his luck against GSP one more time (who by that time will beat Matt Hughes again for the Welterweight belt).

I like Joe Daddy and all, but Penn is on a different level.

I really want to pick Joe Stevenson just to play devil's advocate, but I just can't do it. BJ Penn literally jogged through a still-dangerous Little Evil in his last fight and I think he'll barely slow down against Joe Daddy.
Love, VanDAMN!

You know I want to pick Joe as well, especially with the way he did Melvin Guillard.....but how can you go against Penn!!?? He's too good! Joe would have to grind him out and then turn it on in the later rounds to have a prayer....if the odds are good enough I will probably bet on him, but I wont pick him for my points!!

Two questions, is this going to be a 5 round fight? Assuming that Sherk's appeal is eventually denied, is he going to be stripped of his belt?

I'm pretty sure it will be 5 rounds as it is for a title of sorts. Also, because a long suspension would be likely for Sherk if his appeal is denied, his belt would most likely be stripped (though after suspension he can fight for it again normally).

Love, VanDAMN!
