I was hoping for them to match up Saku with Tamura, but I knew when they signed Funaki that he would be lined up for a big fight on his return... I had heard a rumor that they where trying to get Rickson to fight him again, but it seems for now that it's out of the question.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very psyched about this fight, but it seemed obvious that Funaki was passed his prime when he faced Rickson in 2000. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the greatest submission artist to ever grace MMA is ready after a 7 year lay-off.
ps. If you don't know who Masakatsu Funaki is... actually I don't have a follow up for this, everyone knows who Funaki is!

I'm more concerned about whether they'll have any kind of gas tanks, this could turn into another totally unexciting fight like the Royce fight earlier this year.
Sakuraba will still shift tickets and some PPVs, but he is a few years past his prime, we should have seen all these "dream match ups" for him a few years ago now!

Is it sad that even though I know your not talking about him, I keep imagining Sakuraba facing the guy from WWE?
Sakuraba by Chair Shot, if it did happen though.
