Kevin talks Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin, Yahoo's MMA success, and really gets into the Randy situation, his agent, how Randy and his agent poorly handled the situation (via fax and out of town) and the possible future gameplan. He brings up the BJ Penn situation and how that is similar to this. Audio is definitely worth it.

I think the signing of Brock is great. If Brock has a huge, exciting performance his first fight, people will begin to forget about Couture.

Also, MMA is hitting it big and exploding but not completely mainstream, 2008 could be the year that it really takes off.

The unclassy move by Couture and his agent coupled with new organizations getting into it may cost Randy more millions than he would have received had he finished his contract honorably and as a class act.

I think we can both agree he is fairly compensated, and I do believe dana that the guy is the second most paid in the UFC. He may have also been receiving perks, and compensation for his lobbying and his guest broadcasting efforts as well.

They'll probably drop the legal hammer on the guy and unless he can pull a "The Rock" and become embraced as an Actor with good acting skills, he'll quickly fade away from that scene or pull a BJ and come crawling back.

To be honest, I love Couture as a fighter, I really want to see him finish his career in the UFC and finish out his contract. If he can win his next two he will walk away a great deal more famous and extremely well compensated and with even more offers than he is getting nowadays.

Regarding your statement though, about being on Dana's payroll, I thought Iole worked for Yahoo. He has special access to Dana because Iole's posts can reach millions.

He has special access to Dana because he's his professional bitch. The man has trouble seeing the keyboard because Dana's balls are always on his chin.

Look, Randy said he talked to all the other fighters and looked at what they got paid. Dana says he got it off the Internet. Out of those two, who is more likely to lie?

On the one hand, you have the unquestioned best ambassador the sport will ever have. On the other hand, you have a loud mouthed bully who has lied countless times about shit that's meaningless AND stuff that mattered. Hmmmmm, who to believe?
