While the Ultimate Fighting Championship has mapped out events for Nov. 17, Dec. 29, and Feb. 2 in the U.S., its UK arm is planning its first event of 2008 for as early as January 19 or 26.
On the roster, French welterweight Jess “Joker” Liaudin (12-8) is in talks to face Bangor, Maine’s Marcus Davis (13-3), fresh off a come-from-behind victory over Walsall, England’s Paul Taylor (8-2) at Sept. 8’s UFC 75 in London, England. Contracts for this bout are pending.

Im shocked they arent having this as a fight night event cos you just know its gonna suck assssssss!

The main event will beat Rashad Bisping as the worst ever UFC main event, if this event is just 1 or 2 weeks before the massive superbowl event then im 100% it will be the weakest ever card on paper

Its gonna be a weak FN card dressed up as a proper numbered UFC event, free on spike as a good way to promote UFC 81, wont help build mma in the uk much though with the gash card it will likely be

And I bet you'll be in attendance since it's near you, right?

If Liaudin-Davis does happen that's a fight I'd be looking forward to and was predicting as happening sooner rather than later. These are 2 guys that are doing a great job of making a name for themselves in the WW division and I feel that the winner could be putting himself just 1 or 2 solid wins from an eventual title shot.

I know England ain't the biggest country in the world, but still, Cornwall isn't that near to Newcastle. You couldn't walk it anyway.

For me however, it's ideal

Even though I live in the States, I have nothing against having UFC events overseas. It's always exciting to see the rest of the world just as excited about MMA as we are here in the States. Plus, it usually means a free event for us.

Ohio State is an absolute joke, I suggest you side with the Florida Seminals or Miami Hurricanes.

I understand you're new and everything... but being a dick will either get you banned by the mods, or called out by the members. Be cool, man.

Moreso with the HBO deal falling through, not everybody gets it (I don't) plus you'd have to pay more for it. I'm starting to wonder, though, if they'll try and get Bisping on the card again if he comes out of the fight with Rashad OK. It'll be less than 2 months' turnaround but he's been on the first 2 UK events so it would be kinda strange not having him on. Not in a bad way though.

No, the guy was being a douche bag... he was trying to get banned. He was trolling through all the forums fighter bashing, spamming, etc.... so I guess they deleted his posts after I had already responded.

Im gonna be there with bells on, a hint however is that nearly all the hotels are booked up on the weekend of the 19th, but with United i suppose that could be away fans. Much smaller show compared to 70 and 75 in terms of audience.
