DAVIE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) Spokesperson Crawford Grimsley announced today, “The CFC will put up a $3,000,000 purse to bring the Couture vs Emelianenko fight to Pay-Per-View. $1,000,000 will be guaranteed to each fighter while the winner takes home an additional cool million, making this the largest single purse for any one MMA fight.”
Grimsley, a former heavyweight boxer who went 12 rounds with big George Foreman for the world title in 1996 said, “I don’t know who set up the current MMA system of sanctioning bodies locking fighters into exclusive long term contracts. I do know who is out to change this system though, we are, the CFC. We are not going to try to reinvent the wheel, but we would like to add a little of the business model that professional boxing has adopted for decades. Can you imagine if professional boxing would not allow champion to fight champion. How many great boxing matches would we have missed?”

well, i see that many peoples are trying to make a name for themself on the back of others.
this guy is a dreamer but even if it is a dream, i have to take it seriousely because that i want to see fedor get destroy by couture before 2030 !!!
at least by judging from the name, this fight will be in a cage !!!
good luck man, if you think you can take the best fighter of M-1 without problem to fight for you ,try it man.
same for couture with the ufc, try it man !!
hoping for the best !!!!

Prob impossible, but i respect the guy for being a good mma fan. The only way i see this fight happening is if Couture fights in M1 in 9 months./

i heard that coutures contract expired in about 8-10 months but on the ufc.com interview dana said that wasnt true
i really hope to see couture in the cage again with a proper salary

Why would Fedor take a $1 million dollar purse and not the UFC's reported $2 million dollar purse?
This isnt about money, this is about the cage! I honestly believe if the ufc said that the fight would take place in a ring instead of a cage, Fedor would be in the the ufc. He doesnt want anything to do with Randy in a cage.

Couture has 2 fights left on UFC deal and White would prolly sue the shit out of any and all parties to try to make couture fight sum where else even sue couture himself

I LOVE THIS!!! HE IS EXACTLY RIGHT!!! WE WOULD HAVE MISSED ALMOST EVERY GREAT FIGHT!!!!
I definitely think this won't happen becuase Randy would get the crapp sued out of him by Zuffa and dana of the UFC
but great proposal!!!

well couture is smart cause the ufc will have to match the offers of other orgs if they don't want this fight to happen. And I gurantee they don't want this fight to happen.

To say Fedor is scared of anything is retarded.

On the beatdown, they said Couture still has 9 months (or 2 fights) left. Here's the wrinkle: Dana says that if you are out due to injury or retire, the contract says the time gets paused until you come back.
Gross said the word is that is why RESIGNED, not retired, as falsely reported by the mainstream media. He should be free in 9 months but there will probably be lawyers involved before that happens.

I'm not sure this is about money, fear, or where the fight takes place. I think it has to do with certain people bucking the UFC and saying that it's not worth what they belive in. For Couture that is his legecy and for Fedor it's helping MMA grow in his homeland. Otherwise I think the fight would be happening on Superbowl Weekend, not that sunday of course but on the same weekend!!!

Yeah and will that make Dana any more popular? he should know when he is beaten and let Randy go and fight Fedor since he was too CHEAP to make the fight happen!
I dont think this situation has ever arisen in the UFC before? has anybody ever wanted to leave and fight elsewhere while still under contract???
