LOS ANGELES (Oct. 11, 2007) Los Angeles-based ProElite, Inc., which celebrated its first birthday recently, received a belated present from Nick Diaz when the exciting, popular fan favorite and Mixed Martial Arts superstar signed an exclusive, long-term contract extension with the company’s Live Event’s Division, EliteXC.

“Nick is a tremendously talented young fighter and we are extremely thrilled to have him join our family,” said EliteXC Live Events President, Gary Shaw, who made the announcement Thursday. “He is a very humble young man and dedicated athlete with an enormous wealth of talent.’’

i love diaz, and i really wanted him to come back to the ufc. it saddens me that he signed a long term contract. i think i am going to now watch elite xc only because of him. i love to watch him fight, and elite xc has a good LW division, i am looking foward to seeing him fight.

You can't blame the guy.....UFC burned the bridge not Diaz. He even wanted to corner his brother in a match and they just wouldn't allow it. His suspension had nothing in it that stated that he couldn't corner. I don't blame the guy....The other brand has quite a few guys that I like now.

yea i totally agree, i don't blame nick at all, its just that i was hoping for one of my favorite fighters to fight in my favorite organization, even though my favorite organization blew it (they have been doing this a lot lately ) anyway i am going to keep my eye on the elite xc LW division as well as their MW to keep an eye on lawler, who i think would be great in the ufc again given the chance.

Lawler would be great to get back into the UFC!! I heard that Dana would have taken Baroni back if he'd ko Shamrock. I say they give that opportunity to Lawler!!!
