They may have lost them but the question is if they aren't resigning with the IFL where are they headed??

Two more reasons why this shouldn't be called the grand prix tournament, but just a regular event. Sure there are still some good fights like Horodecki/Palaszewski, left on the card, but all the big fights that made the card exciting are slowly going away til it's just undercard guys being put up against the remaining real opponents.

As for where they are going, hopefully in the case of Whitehead, back to the UFC, and Rothwell, to the UFC. Of course Whitehead would be more affective down in the WEC. Rothwell would be a great addition to the UFC Heavyweight division.

They really need to hold on to these guys to establish their reps and there by hyping the league. Maybe a two season contract is in order to retain talent that can help build the ifl. Rothwell and horedesci (spelling) are two of the big draws that came up through the league and helped give the leage credibility and noteriety.

During the original season IFL championships, it was the guys on the Silverbacks including Rothwell, Markham, Palaszewski, and McGivern that made me take notice because they seemed unstoppable. Then guys like Horodecki came around, and I found my self transfixed by it. It gained more notable names, and now IFL is my second favorite smaller promotion after WEC. Now though, it's starting to look sad. They will announce a full card, and by the time the card actually takes place, 70% of the card is changed. It's mostly because they allow their fighters to fight on other cards, which is why UFC is so good, but that's another story.

The IFL is ruined if they lose Rothwell! They needed to expand and sign better fighters not lose their current best!!!

Can someone explain this to me, you all sound like Whitehead and Rothwell are out of the IFL completely?? I couldn't get the link to work, the title only states that they are out of the Grand Prix. HELP!!

dang i thought Rothwell was gonna loose in this event too. Maybe its a good move by him strike while the iron is hot with another brand. I really don't like him that much but kudos if the man is in negotiation with the UFC. Mine as well do it while you've won all your recent fights. I still say he would have lost Nelson this time around but i guess we will never see, Definitely interesting turn of events tho.
