So...everyone's calling BS on shogun, and Tito's got a good excuse?
Not everyone, I even made a post about my thoughts on Shogun and how I believed he actually did quite well for having most of his tools taken away with his knee injury.

well put.
theres no substance to what you've said because no matter who you ask in the ufc, they'll all tell you that ortiz's work ethic is second to none. The only person who i would say is comparable is sherk, and everyone was on his nuts after the ufc all access. Ortiz is as good as he is because of how hard he works, and if he's fighting at 100% then he's a match for anybody in the division.. cept chuck =(

Yeah poor Tito. Even his g/f is out on disability and he can't pay his bills so he has to fight @75% just like every other fighter in the UFC and since Shamrock isn't currently available for beat-downs, he is forced to make Griffen and Evans look good. It's sad, really. If Ortiz put half as much effort into fighting as he does marketing and damage control, he would be the Undisputed HW/LHW/MW Champion of the Universe and would keep a leather-bondage-outfit clad Fedor locked in a trunk in the basement of his pawn shop.

I just can't stand posts like this. Pretty much everyone knows Tito is one of the hardest training guys in the business. Even Couture says that he overtrains. Anyway, if you're just going to fighter bash can you do it on sherdog?
First off, I wasn't fighter bashing. How is it bashing to say that other fighters fight injured as well? Sylvia, CC, Sho-gun, Gamburyan.. they all fought injured as well. Hell, Couture continued to fight GG with a broken arm. I don't think any fighter enters the ring at 100%. Secondly, the comment "making guys like evans and forrest look good" came directly from Ortiz. So isn't actually Tito who is fighter bashing by implying if he was 100%, he would make Evans and Griffen look bad? Third, which UFC fighter, besides Hughes-who admitted he had been slacking off, doesnt train hard? Finally, my last sentence wasn't implying that Ortiz wasnt a good fighter. Hell, he's a former LHW champion. I'm saying he's more worried about cashing in on his image, when he should have just stomped Evans all over the place, which he is more than capable of doing. Not to discredit Evans, but Ortiz has alot more experience. Can you honestly say that Tito doesnt put time and energy into stiring up controversy to hype his fights??? Immediately following the NC announcement, he grabbed the mic and began hyping a rematch. In summation: He fought injured; Boo hoo, many fighters do. He trains hard; Big deal. So does everyone else. You "cant stand posts like these", then skip them. There are alot of posts on here that I feel are idiotic and borderline retarded. Holy shit, this post was longer than my original.

i think the tito and shogun thing is a lil different, and this is just imo, tito fought forrest bad knee and won, shogun did to and lost..shogun is not going fight tell that knee is ok, tito fought rashad and didnt let it heal. Now he wants to heal it and i think he should be albe to. And i think any fighter that gets hurt should be albe to let it heal

bottom line is that tito trains first, talks second. A lot of his injuries come from over training. I dont understand why you'd rag on a guy cause he's good at promoting fights. He knows how to market himself and the fights that he's in. And its true that a lot of fighters fight with some sort of injury, but taking away the shooting power from tito is like giving chuck liddel two broken hands.

Bottom line is he has excuses for everything when in reality he just isn't the same fighter as he used to be (or maybe he is but everyone in the game has caught up and passed him).
It sucks too because Tito used to be a cool and great fighter. This is what having that belt for so long did to him.

There could be a lot of other reasons behind this.. and there probably are but I think this is legit. His knee was ****** when he fought griffin, and had he not thrown out his back then rashad would be toast. I dont know about you guys, but I'd much rather see the old tito ortiz than the new one, and if he thinks that this will do it, then i say fcuk the rashad rematch.. nobody wanted to see that shit anyways
Tito keeps coming up with excuses and you keep lapping them up.
EDIT This is a fight game, every fighter is injured. You won't find a single fighter at a UFC event who does not have some type of injury.

lets just see how he fights when his "injuries" are supposedly gone. im not gonna buy his story until i see his performance when he says hes 100%, b/c i know he wont be too much different then when he fought rashad. and besides, no professional athlete in any sport is ever 100%, so tito should really stop making excuses or go under the fake surgery like so many other fighters do.

not every fighter fights injured. You often hear fighters post-fight saying that they were injury free during the fight. Also, most of the injuries that fighters fight with dont affect performance.
"a plea offered in extenuation of a fault or for release from an obligation"
Seems like everytime a fighter tries to explain why he lost the fight, or why he didnt fight as well as expected everyone is dying to say its just an excuse. Excuse for what? saying his opponents got lucky is an excuse, saying the arena had bad chi is an excuse. Saying that he's been fighting injured is a legitimate reason for not performing 100%. If shogun said that he wasnt 100% against forrest cause of his knee, you gonna call taht an excuse? The difference between tito and shogun in this case is that tito will come out and say thats why he didnt perform, where shogun will play the injury down and let the fans make the excuse. Either way, the truth is the same, fighting with one knee makes you shitty.

Before your post, it was about half and half for and against what Tito says. But to you, it's everyone. It's the same ole same ole with you.

I must have been looking into a crystal ball when I said that Tito will try everything in his power to avoid a rematch with Rashad.
I'm trying to pay my bills injured and making guys like evans and forrest look good.
Injured or not, Tito never loses a sense of respect for his fellow fighters!

who knows maybe he just has been fighting injuries and he will come back 100%
it just seems recently whenever a big fighter loses there has to be some injury or excuse involved.

this is total BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hom many fighters actually fight a 100% None because of training and sparring a fighter cant be exactly 100 or even 90 %. Especially with cutting weight and al of the other factors. i dont think tito wants to get beat his FIRST fight back on a new contract. That why he backed out. If he is such a good fighter he should be able to beat these so called chumps (Forrest and Rashad) At 75 % hands down!!!!!!
P.S. SCREW TITO ORTIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate this guy

PM me if you'd like to critisize my views on everything from now on .
I'd rather not see this rematch anyways, to many good fighters they should mix it up instead of rematch after rematch.

Nothing new about Ortiz. Just know he prefers Las Vagas or CA.
I would like to see Ortiz vs "Shogun" or Silva to see if Ortiz is worth moneymaker or what?
