So with Dan Henderson coming into the UFC a champion in two weight classes and fighters like Brandon Vera claiming once they win a title, they will go after one in a different weight class as well, Do you guys think with so much competition that a fighter will be able to hold two titles simulatiously? I would say yes about 5 years ago as some divisions were getting completely dominated but right now, I think its difficult enough to win a single title in a weight class and you must be completely committed to fighting with the perfect weight for yourself.

I think someone could achieve it (i.e. Couture), but defending both would be a completely different ballgame. It wouldn't be fair to those contenders who want a fair shot in a timely fashion to have to wait for the champ to defend his other title and then wait for him to recoop. Logistically, it would be a pain in the ass to deal with.

I see what you mean but I;m sure once becoming a champ in both, you would be required to fight more than as a regular, the UFC def wouldnt put up with it unless they knew the fighter would know he would have to fight more often.

imo it will not happen,if 1 guy had 2belts in would be to much in the UFC for him for 1, and 2 i dont really wanna see the same fighter fight in two different weight all the time. randy could win the 205 belt imo but why do it, thats like working two jobs, you would need to watch guys in two div. a lot of work. And if he got hurt both belts would be on hold

ya it would be shafting all the other top fighters that want a shot and the wear and tear that would put on ur body to def 2 belts but i still dont see it happening its just to stacked in allmost every weight class other then the 185 where silvia and ritch are the only 2 legit people

Someone could, but it would create a log jam (just like there is one now) of title contenders and we would have more PPV's without championship matches.

This causing a "logjam" of contenders is a much much more reasonable excuse than waiting it out for a reality show, IMHO

I do like your polls but I don't see this as a possibility ever. Dana won't allow it.

I was gonna say, I could have swore that I read somewhere that it will never happen again. That Dana specifically stated that a fighter can't change weight classes while he has the belt.

Only person I could see being a champ in two divisions is Matt Hughes in WW and MW.

Nah it'd be too much of a pain in the ass for the fighter and the company...The fighter would have less time to train because he'd have to have a title fight every two months and that will make him injury proned and it would stink in a division like the UFC LHW & WW divisions because you'd have to wait too long for there title shots..

Brandon Vera and Randy are the closest you'll probably get...

Yea prob and hes near the end of his career. I could have seen couture pulling it off when the LHW was only Chuck Liddell but now almost every divisions stacked but Middleweight, thats prob why Hughes would have such a good chance.
