Look I ave been saying Forrest is one of the most over rated fighters in the UFC for the past year! With the win over Shogun, not only win but made him submitt ! I wanna know where everyone's head is at with this guy. He Still has a lot to proove in my mind but making a top 5 LHW fighter in the world submitt was almost impressive. I just don't see how you can go from being knocked the hell out by Jardine, Jardine beats Liddell, then Submitting Shogun and being looked at as a top LHW fighter. What do you think?

now I know he beat shogun..... Gonzaga beat Cro-cop who then lost again to Kongo, Big NOG was almost knocked out in a fight he should have walked right on through, Right now in the UFC I don't think that because you fought in PRIDE or were a Top PRIDE fighter means anything when entering the Octagon. I guess his next fight we will start to see exactly what type of fighter he is BECOMING!

So where does that put Keith Jardine? He has a win over Forrest, then got blasted by Houston, only to rebound with a win over Liddell. Forrest clearly underestimated Jardine and payed the price (don't believe me? watch that fight and see Forrest stand there like a big oaf just letting himself get hit after winning the stand up early) . I truly believe that Forrest, Jardine, and Houston pose a threat to everyone they face in the future.

Of thoses three Forrest is the only one that has any ground game. The rest are just like Chuck and as you can see if you are go to stand two guys toe toe someone will get hit more and lose thats all these guys are including chuck is sluggers and quickly there is becoming less and less room for that type of fighter in the UFC.

So to answer the question I say he was underestimated in that fight but for the most part for all the fame the show brought he is about on par for his skill set.

Forest is for real. Anyone who can dominate Shogun is a great fighter. He may have had some rough spots here and there, but he is definently for real.

Forrest is a great fighter but beating shogun was more of a prooving tool that shogun is overrated. Forrest is good but i would still never pick him over liddell or wandy or arona or other top guys.

with most of what you said except I think it should say Forrest is a good fighter.

If he was great Tito would be retired.

And he has lost two of his last five fights. That does not even come close to top ten LHW.

I would pick him over Liddell now. Silva and Arona, not sure. If he can go three with Tito, he might have a chance against Arona and if he can take out Shogun then surely he stands a chance against Silva right?

the forrest that i saw against shogun and against ramirez was a lot different to the forest of past, he seems to have grown up and seems to have learnt not to go punching wildly and i think he is a hell of a lot better now and i dont think he is overrated at all

I think we're pointing the overrated label @ the wrong fighter.

It's a strong possibility that Shogun was a great LHW vs other overseas fighters but not here in The U.S.

And one can easily argue that over here, Forrest is a #12 ranked LHW.

He made Shogun submit. He fought a great fight and Forrests work ethic is insane. If he keeps that up? He'll be champ and will destroy most of his opponents.

Well stated... Forrest has evolved and matured in the octagon and outside of it.

I think he is underrated. Then again I feel like im one of the few people who thought Shogun was gonna destroy him. He definitely showed me something in that fight.
