Rothwell if the biggest win of your MMA career was A win over A out of shape Ricco Rodriguez on four days notice on a unanimous 29-28 decision, The Should of could of's knocked Ricco out "fact" is you didn't if your a real champion give Ricco Rodriguez a rematch and time to train and get in shape

I don't believe he'll be anything more than a Heath Herring type of fighter if he were in the UFC. He'd put on some interesting fights, but I don't think he'll be a champion in the UFC. I am looking forward to the Roy Nelson fight just to see how Rothwell handles another hyped Heavyweight from the IFL.

Rothwell fought Nelson a little while back and I felt the decision could have gone either way (it was a split decision for Ben) so that rematch is pretty intriguing.

i really dont like rothwell. hes over hyped and if he went against anyone with real talent or with a fair amount of time to train, he would lose. atleast we'll see how good he really is when he signs somewhere else.

i wonder if the ufc is interested in signing him for anything more than a typical newcomer deal. the guy is somewhat established and is fairly well known at this point, but i dont see the ufc throwing a ton of money his way. i wouldnt be surprised one bit to see him end up in elitexc.

yeh im sure elite xc will pick him up for more money than what ufc would give ben. that would be cool to see ben get completely owned by AA or even someone like Mir.

Even if EXC picks him up, he'll still have to fight Junior Silva sooner or later, and that's a tough fight for anyone
(they do need to get some more heavies though)

I think that the UFC would pay more than the IFL paid him. I would hope he'd make the smart choice and fight the best. He'll be nothing more than a "I wonder if he could" kind've guy, until he actually fights someone worth it. EliteXC won't be the place to prove anything.

I think he should sign with M-1 and fight Fedor. You know they're wanting some heavies who are well known. If he can beat Fedor, he will be the man and he will be worth a ton of money. If he loses to Fedor (which I would imagine he would lose to Fedor), then big deal. He just lost to the #1 fighter in the world. If I was a hw not signed by the UFC, I'd risk taking the ass-whipping of a lifetime to have a shot at dethroning Fedor.

What is it with people trying to build people up and then tear them down when they reach the top? Is Rothwell the flavor of the month?
I think Rothwell is a solid fighter. Yes, he can compete in the UFC. He probably won't be the HW champ, but he is good. Don't tear him down. He has torn up the IFL, and that's all he could do. Give him credit for that. Here is a list of UFC HW fighters I think he CAN'T beat:
1-Randy Couture. He's retired, but Rothwell couldn't beat him. 2-Big Nog. Not may guys period can beat him 3-Sylvia-I think he's back in shape. This would be a good fight, though. 4-Arlovski. I think Arlovski would just destroy him in standup.
That's it. Rothwell would have a shot against anyone else, including Brock Lesnar.
