I'm hoping this won't be an undercard, probly will... Anyways this could be a ver good one. Just wondering, any thoughts on the outcome??? This one can really go one way or another.

i have to go with okami, i'd put his wins over mcdonalds's wins anyday, and he looked slightly better against franklin.
Take down and GnP

It would take away credibility if this wasn't on the main card since Okami was in the main event of 72 and the Athlete has a 3-1 UFC record. Regardless this is a big middleweight fight. Both coming off losses to Franklin I think the Athlete has better striking and will push Okami more. Okami will be stronger but Jason MacDonald might be more well rounded in all aspects of the game. It will go to a decision I can't see either fighter being finished but it should be a war. Athlete by unanimous decision.

The winner of this match just might get a title shot if Henderson doesn't come down to Middleweight, SO yeah, This will be a main card bout. In fact, I'll bet all of my MMAPlayground Betting funny money on it, haha...
Naw, But this is a tough one to call. Okami is alot stronger than McDonald, and I can easily see him taking Jason down and Unleashing his very nice ground and pound on him. But if he DOES, McDonald has some sick submissions and I could see him THrowing up a Triangle or Taking an Arm or Heel....I think I'd Have to say Okami is too strong for Jason and he's power out of any submission Jason Attempts, so if I have to pick, I'd pick Okami. Should be a close fight that can go either way.

I'm picking Jason all the way. He's coming off a win at his last UFC, a good KO, and he's going to have a lot of drive going into this fight. He's always had a determination to win and fight bigger and badder in his class. "i'm noones stepping stone" i believe is his exact quote after choking out Leben.
i'm not dismissing the obvious talents of Okami, but i'm still going MacDonald all the way for this one.

I'm definately picking Okami. Hopefully I'll get some good odds for this, then I'll put every single dime on Okami.

okamis my pick here too, hes a big strong 185er and whoever wins this will almost definately be the #1 contender(unless rich beats silva, then i could see an immediate rematch). this could be a snoozer to some, but i definately see it as a main card fight. if okami wins and faces silva it has a good storyline for the ufc to sell tickets on too since okami beat silva by DQ before.

I have to agree with this outcome...
McDonald will push him more, and as long as he does that, he should have it. Okami is a good fighter, but as shown against franklin, he can be pushed around.

MacDonald as shown by Rich Franklin can get knocked out... I'm going Okami the guys a beast who just needs to get more cofident on his feet.

Rich Franklin never knocked out MacDonald, he forfeited at the end of the second...
Anyways, these are both really big middleweights with alot of talent, however I think it's rather obvious that Okami has faced thee stiffer competition, and is much stronger coming from the mouths of his opponents. Stylistically I see this playing out in Yushin's favor, he is a very good judo player and GnP's people into oblivion. JMac's only real hope is to push the pace standing, but seeing as only Amar Suloev and Anderson Silva (to some extent) have made this work for them against him, Jason's chances look really slim.
I'll actually be at this event, and this is the fight I'm looking forward to the most.

Sorry was going off of memory, so I guess Franklin showed us that MacDonald can be forced to quit...

This is kind of a tough call for me. While I see that they both have a strong ground game and Okami has a couple of better victories than Macdonald. Asian fighters tend to not do so well in the UFC if you look at other Asian fighters that came over from Pride and other organizations. Also, Okami could of easily beaten Franklin with his strength and skills but for some stupid reason, Okami just wasn't pushing the fight last time. So I dunno.

I hope MacDonald wins this, i think he will submit Okami once Okami takes him to the ground via Triangle choke.
