I think a beard hurts more than it helps. Punches dont slip off as easily, making the button an easier target, and there's added resistance to try and slip out of chokes.
But added protection? It's Hair. Hair isnt going to absorb any impact.
depends on the hair and thickness and hendricks beard is just thick as for padding
