guys we are going off topic with the discussion.
the thread is not about fights where someone won that you thought had no chance. the thread IS about fights where it ended in an outcome you thought would never happen.
like emfleek said, while Werdum beating Fedor was improbable, if he were to win it would have been by submission. therefore it doesn't really fit this thread.
HOWEVER if Werdum was to KO Fedor after picking him apart on the feet, THAT would be applicable.
Just think of anytime a black belt got submitted by someone who barely knew JJ, or a K-1 striker who got KO'd by a grappler. stuff like that

I don't know if this has been said yet but when Kevin Burns (A bjj purple belt at the time) submitting Roan Carinero, a bjj black belt was extremely unpredictable.

Lytle tapping out Hardy especially since Hardy refused to tap out against St. Pierre.

Travis Lutter knocking out Marvin Eastman.
St. Pierre vs Serra. Not just because it was an upset. Because a guy not known (at the time) as a powerful striker knocked out a much more accomplished stand-up fighter.
Matt Hughes submitting Ricardo Almeida.
Mayhem submitting Saku.
Leben submitting Akiyama.
I also remember some highly touted jiu jitsu guy getting submitted in the WEC by a young black fighter. Don't remember the names tho and don't feel like searching. Props if you find it.

That was Mackens Semerzier over Wagnney Fabiano. Definitely a huge surprise.
EDIT: kopower mentioned it on page one.

After what Hathaway did to Sanchez, I was surprised to see him shut down and dominated by Mike Pyle, I was surprised at the way Nate Diaz out boxed Gomi, another bizarre ending no one has said is Couture/Belfort 2, cut to the eyelid.
When Royce Gracie quit in the corner after Sakuraba tortured him with leg kicks, also Sakuraba out striking Vitor Belfort.
Belfort wrestling his way to a UD decision win over Heath Herring.
When Sakuraba was KO'd by Elvis Schemberi, Coleman TKO'ing Shogun with a TD. Lindland and Kerr both knocking them selves out in different fights with botched suplex attempts.
The fight a few years ago where Shonie Carter was the Ref and both fighters landed a punch at the same time and knocked each other out.
Im rambling now, but there is a few that havent been mentioned.

Wandy's fight with Hidehiko Yoshida. EVERYONE was expecting Wandy to treat Yoshida like a typical Japanese feeder fight, but Yoshida took Wandy to a hard decision during Final Conflict 2003. That was insane.
And then they went on to do it again two years later! Such a crazy series.

just last night (Bellator 54, Vitor Vianna KOing Bryan Baker. the announcers even said how much Baker didn't respect Vianna's kickboxing. and tbh, i didn't either. boy was everyone wrong haha
also, Diaz KOing Lawler at UFC 47. Lawler was a vicious brawler who was knocking guys out left and right. i knew Diaz had good JJ, so i thought Diaz was going to submit him. i had no idea he was going to out box him and eventually brutally KO him! that was definitely crazy to watch.
