There should be a thread dedicated to Anderson Silva dodge GIFS. He reminds me of Roy Jones. I think he kind of models certain aspects of his fighting style after him.

This video has a lot of awesome head and foot movement. Reminds me of Silva

Anderson used a classic bob and weave chael wiffed and Anderson ended the fight. Its Classic Anderson Silva. When you make a mistake in the cage and Anderson is standing infront of you he makes you pay. Discredit his win all you want with your "If only Chael had not made this mistake or that mistake" truth is he had two chances both times he made a mistake and both times he got finished. In my mind Anderson owns Chael just as much as he owns Rich.

Fairly extraordinary. Cannot tell if Silva is a fight psychic or not.

he ducked the original punch not the spin thing chael attempted.

You can see from the original birds-eye view that he juked right for the spinning backfist looking down without even looking at Chael

Cheal doesnt throw jabs, he uses jabs to telegraph the big punches following the jabs, anderson knows this. Anderson probably didnt intentionally trip Sonnen but definitely never ducks that far down on a whim.

Do you ever see anderson sway an inch more than he needs to? Fuck no, thats how you counter effectively. Anyone can run and dodge, very few can move one inch out of the way, keep the feet set and counter hard at your oponents most vulnerable.

Almost noone else in MMA I've ever seen has enough confidence in their finishing skills to improve their striking to that degree.

Sonnen didn't throw a jab. He threw a Left straight. He's a southpaw.

From that point of view it almost looks like Chael got tripped up by Anderson's leg. Its clear missing is what start it but it kind of looks like Anderson's leg may have sealed the deal.

This...Anderson's knee hits Chael's knee (or thigh?) and causes him to fall. Otherwise, it just would've looked like a whiffed spinning backfist.

where's the trip?

Chael slipped on andersons leg and fell before being crushed by a body knee.

Yea, that was kind of the point. There was no trip. Chael falling into Andy's knee caused a reaction that looked like a foot sweep.
