I'm a purist and I pretty much always like the original, but the US version is a shot-for-shot remake, so other than the actors, it's identical to the original one.

Anyone who is big on horror movies might like a show called "I survived". It's pretty ******* brutal, I'm not going to lie. It's a show where they get people who survived some kind of horrific attack to just tell their story to a camera, no reenactments or anything.
It's basically real-life horror. Some of the stories are just completely sickening, they frequently get people who survived an encounter with a serial killer, torture murderer, or a drug addled criminal, and the stories are really goddamn rough. The fact that they are true stories might turn a lot of people off of it. I have a pretty strong stomach and even I sometimes can't watch the show if I'm in a really good mood or something because it's just so depressing.
**** is seriously heavy, but if you're a horror fan you might find it interesting.

im a rob zombie fan:
house of 1000 corpses devils rejects rob zombie's holloween 1 & 2
I love rob zombie directed movies. I haven't seen his halloween 2 yet but if its anything like the first it should be fantastic.
my top 5 would be 3 movies above as well as dawn of the dead(2004) and Disturbia. Its more of a thriller but i love that movie.
I also love Shawn Of the Dead and Zombieland.

There are actually some subtle differences between the two, but 98% of the scenes are shot for shot.
I also almost always prefer the original over the remake. To answer your question about Last House on the Left though, I actually prefer the remake.

I am a huge Halloween fan, but the second Rob Zombie one was kind of dumb, i hated to admit that when it came out cause i love all of those movies, but the story line was dumb, he should have stuck to the original story line, like he pretty much did in the first one.

Had to give props for Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
I'm big into reading and researching about serial killers and what makes them tick basically. "Henry" is probably the best serial killer themed movie that I've ever seen next to Fritz Lang's "M".

If you are in to serial killers (not me, I moonlight, lol), I am sure you are familiar with Richard Kuklinski. If not.... get a book about him. There are documentaries and interviews with him too. His nickname is appropriate for this forum too: The Iceman.
Anyhow.... ......
I don't watch too much horror, but I liked...
The Descent Saw 2 (I actually found this plot better than the original. 3-7.... not so much) Dawn of the Dead (2004) Quite easily one of the best zombie/horror movies ever Rob Zombie's Halloween (and the original. and all other Rob Zombie films) The Hills Have Eyes (2006) Not a terrible flick....

Yeah, I know of Kuklinski, scary ******* guy. He's not *technically* a serial killer though because one of the main requirements for being classified as a serial killer is killing for psychological gratification, as opposed to financial gain. He is still interesting though for sure.

Yeah, full blown ******* crazy guy. I remember him saying the only friend he didn't kill was the one who put him away. Go figure! That dude.... insane. They have a special place in hell for him, I'm sure.
I can see how he wouldn't be classified as a serial killer though. Undoubtedly has to be one of the most prolific contract killers/mob enforcers in history.
