The Ultimate Fighting Championship always is looking for new stars. It believes it has found one in Roger Huerta. The 24 year-old has the good looks and charm to be a star.

maybe by "climbing the ladder" he actually means "almost losing to a bunch of guys who have never fought in the UFC before, even though the division is totally stacked with talented and experienced fighters".

He went to decision with Dent, who had never fought in the UFC before.

He beat Halverston, who had never fought in the UFC before.

He almost lost a close decision to Garcia, who had never fought in the UFC before.

He almost lost to Evans, who had never fought in the UFC before.

His next fight is against Crane, who has never fought in the UFC before.

Notice a trend?

He's got to fight some real, established competition to be "climbing the ladder". It's not like the LW division is hurting for talent.
