Aljamain Sterling was fairly sure he was going to be announced as the winner after his UFC on FOX 24 bout with Augusto Mendes went the distance.
But after dropping a pair of split decisions in his previous two fights, there was still that little seed of doubt in his head.
“I thought I won it. I thought, if I lose it, maybe I give up altogether,” Sterling said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. “If they can’t figure out who won this fight then I just suck at this and I’m going to stick to real estate.”

Geeze Louise! These Longo/Serra fighters got that Italian drama rubbing off on them. Both Al & Alja complain wayy too much. Be like Weidman, shut up and fight. If you don't like it...leave and go sell real estate.

Yeah, I like Aljo and all but the dude is a point fighter who lost a couple of close fights and then wants to claim he's been cheated one too many times. I don't think a lot of fighters deserve to use the term retirement...sorry but a lot of them just quit!
