WSOF lightweight Justin Gaethje wants to finish out his WSOF contract and then join the free-agent sweepstakes that’s sweeping MMA.

Gaethje (16-0) said he has two fights remaining on his current contract, and once completed, and he plans to find out what numbers he can fetch with promotions competing for his talent.

“I’ve made an investment in my career, and I love World Series and I want to stay with them, but I have two fights left, (and) I’m going to make them impressive, win or lose,” he today told MMAjunkie Radio. “I’m OK staying with World Series, but I’m going to see what I’m worth.”

I'm willing to bet he's worth a lot. He's easily the most exciting fighter in WSOF and could really add a lot to either the UFC or Bellator. WSOF may have to empty some pockets to keep him on their roster.

He said he won't take a pay cut to go anywhere he currently makes i think it was 60k/60k plus whatever sponsor money he currently makes.

Its up to the rival orgs to make solid offers....UFC,Bellator,Onefc,Rizin all should be interested in him he is certainly a crowd pleaser if promoted properly he could bring in viewers.

I think Bellator could entice him with a front loaded contract with kickboxing, and rizin fights included but UFC could easily shell out to get a hot fighter.

Gaethje genuinely seems to be looking for the best deal so imo money will talk lets see who talks loudest.

UFC should be all over this guy. I say he's earned a nice contract like Alvarez did. Do the same thing. Pay the man but throw him right to the sharks and see if he can swim. Hell definitely have to earn that money.

If his next 2 fights are anything like his last 16, he'll be 18-0. With a style like his and being a proven, undefeated fighter I honestly think a bidding war will end up going down. I think even he will be surprised by what he'll end up getting paid. With the right push this guy could be a big star imo.

If I'm speaking honestly, I want him to go to the UFC simply because of the potential match ups but Bellator would be a great option too. FKA mentioned potential kickboxing bouts if he were to sign there. If he's interested in doing it, I'm definitely interested in watching. Bellator also has a really good Lightweight roster so that would be intriguing as well. I want him to be paid well but a return to WSOF would be disappointing honestly. I hope the UFC and Bellator show serious interest.

UFC or Bellator are the only ones that I could see landing Gaethje. Those are the only 2 orgs w/ good LW talent.

If Gatheje gets signed it's because he puts on exciting fights.

People wanna see him fight cuz he's an exciting balls to wall style whereas Askren's style makes your eyes bleed, not to mention he's a d-bag

I think I'm in the minority, I like watching Askeren fight. He constantly goes from position to position, it's not simply a lay and prey strategy like a ton of wrestlers like to use. I think his style of grappling is exciting to watch he reminds me of a wrestler version of Carlos Newton. He does come off as a D-bag though.

Yep! Askren is the opposite of a company man, plus he doesn't move the needle. I think he's a terrific fighter and he usually makes good points, but I haven't paid for a PPV in a while, let alone a ringside seat.

Back on track - Gaethje's a good kid with an exciting, fundamentally sound skillset. I hope he keeps winning and gets a fat UFC contract.

But bill askren never trained ufc ......

Askren is not boring his grappling is a treat hes very active passing and striking....

He was pretty raw but has evolved into a finisher on the ground hes on a 4 fight finish streak......

Askren is undoubtedly one of the best WWs in the world.
