MONTREAL – The man who the UFC once tried to pay not to fight may soon find himself competing for the promotion's heavyweight title.

Following today's UFC 158 pre-event presser in Montreal, UFC President Dana White told a group of reporters that should Mark Hunt (9-7 MMA, 4-1 UFC) score a knockout win over former champ Junior dos Santos (15-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) at May's UFC 160 event, "The Super Samoan" would likely earn himself a UFC title shot.

"How is this guy not next in line?" White asked.

What it has to be a KO? What if he pulls off a flying scissor takedown with a heel hook finish?

Let me just say, it still blows my mind to see Mark Hunt (4-1 UFC).

And of the guys he's fought it was McCorkle who beat him.

and was 5-3 in pride. not mention a former K-1 WGP champ. still baffles me how easily people right off the Super Samoan. he is not an easy fight for anyone. not the best all round but can bring the fight

Although I don't think he'll be able to handle the wrestling or the pace of Velazquez (but to see him be champ would be unreal) I actually like his chance against Dos Santos
