Since the hint of a UFC Event in Brazil hit the Online Rumor Mill, Dan Severn has been passionate about his intentions to take part in this event as being his finale match to his fans and the MMA Community.

Dan has said on numerous occasions that if he had the opportunity to have such a match in Brazil, he would want it to be with Royce Gracie.

Other than the weight difference, this makes more sense to me than anyone currently on the UFC roster. I'm still not in favor of Royce fighting on the card, but IF they insist on putting it together, I'd rather see him fight someone like this.

I cant imagine what the Brazilian fans would do if and when Severn lays on Royce for 3 rounds.. And its a good possibly it happens in the main event with Okami and Anderson too. They had better quadruple the security.

Just give Royce some can so he can retire on a high note.

I actually like this fight. The stakes are high.

I dont mind fights like this. these are guys that are at the end of their careers but are still in good enough health to fight. They wont ever contend for a title again but people will still want to see them fight. why not make some of these "legend" fights for the live fans and put them on the undercard. If the fights are good i'm sure they will make the ppv or be made available some other way for us to see.

As long as the fighters are not endangering themselves i dont see why they cant keep fighting and why the bigger shows like the UFC cant use their names to put a few more butts in seats.

I'm interested in the idea of this fight, but how would they pull it off with the weight difference? Royce Gracie weighs around 185 and Dan Severn is around 225 (Maybe more now that he is older?)

Could they pull together an exhibition style, open wight bout?

This is a cool idea and it could happen as I think that Dan could get down to 225ish, Serdog has him currently listed at over 250lbs.....any ways I don't think that Royce could win this fight as Dan has stayed active over the years fighting young bucks while Royce in the last 5 or so years has been a once a year fighter at most. Dan via UD or late TKO.

You know Dan Severn is 33-5 since TUF premaired, and the MMA Boom began.

If Severn was some nobody, and UFC had no prior knowledge about him, they would have brought him into the UFC by now.

But because they know who he is, and how old he is, they just write him off as a has been.

In all reality Severn still has some in the tank. I mean 33-5 since 2005 is kind of a big deal.

I would take Severn over Kongo in all honsety.

Severn fights like once every two months, I would have to think he's in good shape.
