Boxers beware, Kimbo Slice wants his bread and he's coming for it. After being cut earlier this year by UFC after a 1-1 stint following a run on TUF 10, Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson is giving up MMA in favor of boxing. Slice via ESPN NY: "I feel like a baby all over again. I'm thinking about this at night. I'm gonna be a problem in the heavyweight division. I'm going to be coming in with a bad demeanor. I want to see what it's like to break some ribs, break a jaw with one punch. This is a career move. I love fighting. I like to knock people the [expletive] out. I love engaging. Maybe some people think I'm crazy."

Cant say this isnt a smart move, the reason I see him going to boxing is because of the leg kicks he already proved thats what really beat him, the rest of him was decent. I think he should drop to 205

I think he will be tons better at boxing then, MMA regardless of what he trained it was still a short time period. You could tell in some of his movements were still uncomfortable. He threw his hands good, but if he can't check a leg kick, he will be in trouble from here on out in MMA. I think he will still have a cardio problem in boxing though, hope he works tha tout though. Also, with boxing salaries still light years ahead of MMA, it's a smart thing to do.

Kimbo was good in street fights because of intimidation, confidence, and usually a massive size advantage. He won't be successful in any legitimate professional combat sport. Sorry to say it. He seems like a nice guy but this is going no where.

Kimbo will get wrecked by any legitimate, decent, professional boxer. I highly doubt he gets put against one though. Especially since promoters will be looking to make money on him. He'll probably make a lot more $$ in boxing.
That being said- make no mistake... any real, legitimate boxer who is anywhere close to a contender would OWN his ass... probably worse and more detrimentally to his health than MMA fighters would.
Kimbo's problem is not only the leg kick. His problem is that he's just not that good. No matter how good of a guy he seems he is simply not that good in the grand realm of combat sports. I don't know why people have trouble figuring that out.
(On a side note I would love to see James Toney demolish Kimbo standing up in an MMA fight. Where the corruption of boxing can't determine the outcome)

Dana should've kept Kimbo and put him and not Couture against Toney.
