Damn, this is alittle too soon IMO. Atleast let Mo fight Babalu or somebody first. Mike Whitehead IMO shouldn't lead the path to Gegard. But I guess theres nobody else really for Gegard to fight at 205 outside the UFC except Hendos whose already probably fighting Jake. I think he should rematch Jacare at MW.

Gegard will probably win by submission but I hope Mo stops him.

yeah I wasn't ready to go against Lawal but now I will have to, Mousasi by SUB , you would figure but maybe this one goes the distance.
Also this is the last fight of his Strikeforce contract , this man needs to go to the UFC because anyone else other then Henderson is a waste of time

Great fight...might be too soon for Mo, but it's a great fight regardless.

I'd love to see his wrestling against Mousasi's striking/submissions, real interesting matchup, but I agree w/ some other posts above, Babalu probably would have been a better choice at this point in Mo's career. A win over Mousasi however, puts Mo right into the limelight, which is where he wants to be.

the way i see it king mo has great wrestling and can definetly take mousasi down, but after he takes mousasi down he'll tap. mousasi is a great at subs and striking, and thats what makes him such a good fighter. you dont see that much

I would have liked to see Mo develop a bit more. But this is still fun.

I think Gegard takes this.

i think Mo taking a decisive loss would do wonders for his career. hes too full of himself for a guy who hasnt accomplished anything yet.

I agree that this is too soon, but with the dearth of ready talent to challenge for Mousasi's title, there's very few viable options. The next best fighter that Mousasi has not already defeated after Lawal would be Rafael Cavalcante, who still has a lot to prove after that woeful performance against Mike Kyle.

Hopefully this will be a warning for potential Strikeforce sign-ups to spend some time outside the promotion developing, not only at light heavyweight but at all weight classes. Lawal could win this fight, since he's one of the best prospects in the sport at the moment, but most fighters new to the sport, promising or not, would be humiliated by a borderline top-ten P4P fighter like Mousasi.

The same problem could come up for Bobby Lashley soon, if Overeem never comes back from Japan, and he's the only realistically marketable option for a showdown with Fedor Emelianenko, who he is not ready for.

Overeem is as ready as he'll ever be, you basically said is Fedor has to slow down for him to be ready.

Poor pronoun-antecedent agreement/sentence structure on my part. I intended for that to be read as "who Lashley is not ready for."
