It was requested and now it is materialized. A Top war movies thread. I made it top 7, but if you want to list more, go ahead.
Here are my tops in no particular order
Platoon Apocalypse Now Buffalo Soldiers Full Metal Jacket Saving Private Ryan The Grey Zone Black Hawk Down
Interested in Three Kings, but haven't seen it.
Now, I have excluded movies about the holocaust, ancient wars (like the Trojan war), sci fi, ones that are more political than warfare, etc.

Can't go wrong with your list. I would add Enemy at the Gates. Three Kings was pretty good

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

8.) Hotel Rwanda
Hotel Rwanda is great, but I wasn't sure if I should put it on my list.

Full Metal Jacket Black Hawk Down Saving Private Ryan
Don't know if it counts as a war movie or falls under your omitted category, but I'd like to say Braveheart should be on the list

I just made the omission statement so people would know why Braveheart, Gladiator, etc. were not on the list.

those are all my top war movies lol seriously. Cept for black hawk down where, you even named the movie, I would replace by three kings. also add Hamburger Hill in there and thats it. (Apocalypse now being my 1st though)
