Diego sanchez is injured (torn Rib Cartilage) and was forced to pull out of his fight against Thiago Alves at UFC 90 , Koscheck stepped up and is the new opponent

this is better than Thiago Vs. Diego in my opinion. i don't think Thiago will be able to defend Koschecks takedowns Thiago's only chance really is to time a flying knee and land it as Kos is coming in on a takedown, if that doesn't happen look for a UD or GnP TKO in Koschecks favor.

Oh SH*T.

Kos wins with explosive wrestling. There is only one guy in the division that has better takedowns than KOs, and thats GSP IMO. Kos rides a decision. Kos has a good chin and as long as he doesnt play stupid, he should be good, Although Alves' TK defense is one of the best in the division, and he seems to be getting more active early in the fight (known as a slow started), so he definitely has a shot at taking this fight.

Too bad for Yoshida, hopefully he gets matched up against Karo once again, he's got a real good chance at taking that fight, dude has got tons of potential.

BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

That fight would have been fireworks, Kos will out-wrestle Alves on route to a UD win.

Since Kos is fightin Alves now, that leaves Yoshida without a fight AGAIN! I wish they could make Yoshida vs Swick now. Honestly I dont think Goulet is a main event person at all. Swick vs Yoshida would be a much better fight IMO

it would have been an unbelievable fight but you can't control an injury and they got the only guy who could save this fight and fight card at this point to step up. I'll take koscheck vs. alves any day of the week.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Koscheck all the way baby. THis is the fight I've wanted for awhile. I'm sure people are going to look at the Hughes fight and try to compare Koscheck to Hughes for this fight but sadly thats not the case.

Say what you want abou Koschecks stand up but its improved so much over the little time and it's def. good enough to set up take downs quite easy. Koscheck should look great in this fight and there should be no doubt in anyones mind who in fact is the Number 2 best WW in the division (or 3rd if you count BJ).

The difference with Koschecks wrestling and Hughes is a pretty good difference even when Hughes was in his prime but we will def. see if Alves take down defense is as good as everyone thinks...which imo it still isn't where it needs to be.

Thank you Koscheck for stepping up

Yeah this is very simliar to what happened to Serra vs Hughes in that the replacement fight will be better then the original. I think this is a true number one contender fight. Does anyone know how long Diego will be out for?
