Despite much speculation about a possible Nov. 8 date for the next event from fledgling MMA promotion Affliction, MMAWeekly.com has learned from multiple sources close to the negotiations that the promotion is instead nearing finalization of an Oct. 11 date for its next event

They are going to start doing one fight per card to stretch things out....

I don't think they counter. Too many events right around this one. Although Dana is going to do everything in his power to try and steal as much of Afflictions thunder as he can.

They need to find a good opponent for barrnet aswell because i assume that is who will be Up next so maybe a rematch with aleks emelianenko (if medical problems are sorted out) or maybe bring in more heavyweights

why are yall limited to the ones who fought recently? whos to say they wont get new talent, or get fighters loaned to them by DREAM, EliteXC or StrikeForce? within the next 3 months, they can land A LOT of guys

It will be siki dont think dana will counter with an event... i could see though him putting on a free PPV kind of like he is doing this weekend with elite XC/ UFC 84 thing... but arlovski should be a longer and even more entertaing fight but i see same thing happening to AA just a little later into the first round possibly 2nd... io think they will barrow fighters to make it more interesting.... Affliction will become ligit contender and a gift for MMA fans

I don't think that EilteXC will loan fighters to Affliction. Didn't they ban fighters from wearing Affliction during their events?

I'm wondering how many PPV buys they can achieve without a head on fight with the UFC this time......
