Did you drink the UFC's brand of Lesnar-flavored Kool-aid?

Is the UFC scrambling to keep any part of their seeming investment in Lesnar in tact after their huge waste of money tapped out to a knee bar int he first round of his debut fight? Maybe, maybe not. But holy crap, talk about the public drinking the UFC kool-aid praise of Lesnar's potential after he lost. Immediately Goldie and Rogan praised Lesnar's potential instead of pointing out the utterly amateur mistakes he made in the cage as they do with others. If Lesnar was a no-name fighter and came in and performed the way he did on Saturday night he would have had his contract cut. Again, if he was a no-name fighter we would expect to see him in Cage Rage or King of the Cage or fighting Kimbo instead of a seasoned former UFC Heavyweight champ.

So how's your Lesnar Kool-aid tasting?

I got to ask but what makes you think they wasted any money at all. Because I think Lesnar did just what they wanted him to do and thats draw in a large audience. That means a huge live gate and huge PPV buys. On top that also means new fans coming to the UFC. The reason they didn't down talk him was they didn't need to point out his mistake he got caught and everyone could see that but the fact that he looked really good after just 1 pro fight says a lot. Tim Sylvia also got caught on the same card because he made a JJ mistake and got summited but I don't see you down talking him. Tim Sylvia was also summited by Arlovski (who doesn't have near the ground skill as Mir) in 47 seconds in to there fight with achilles lock does that mean he made amateur mistakes.

isn't Ju suppose to be Jiu?

The way I see it, UFC made a ton of money because of Lesnar, just think of how fast the ticktes sold, and how many ordered this fight. Not only MMA fans, but Wrestling fans as well.

What happened is exactly what the UFC wanted to happen.

Brock Lesnar was a top collegiate wrestler. He was obviously stronger and 20-25 lbs heavier than Mir. But he was inexperienced in the world of MMA (at least in relation to Mir). What better way to show that MMA fighters are in a league of their own by having Mir win by submission. The UFC is still looking to silence critics by showing that this is a technical sport and not "abused children beating on eachother". The bigger stronger guy didn't win. The MMA fighter did. Its reliving Royce Gracie and what he and his fights did for the UFC.

Alot of valid points made already.
One not pointed out was the fact that in his first UFC fight he went beast-man and almost stopped a former UFC champion in about a minute. Objectively speaking if any random guy did that he would be receiving tons of appraise after the fight.

why would someone who almost stopped a former champ in their second career fight not get praise. he looked good and got caught. props to mir but there was nothing shameful about brocks performance and if his speed and strength did not impress you i think maybe you saw a different fight than i did, because he looked incredibly fast and powerful in the fight i saw.
