This fight was confirmed by representatives at Xtreme Couture. This seems like a step down for Tyson as his last bout with Tavares carried more weight in my eyes. I would like to see him fight KenFlo, but this should still be fun to watch.

Sweet, should be a good fight, I always thought Tibau was overlooked.

maybe overlooked, but Tavares was a big test and after winning that and Guida they should be able to get him someone who is known to be formitable, Kenflo would be a thought

just because tibau isnt a big name doesnt mean he will be a walk in the park. tibau is a big lightweight, i wouldnt be suprised at all if he wins this fight, im still picking tyson but done sleep on tibau, he is pretty good.

i agree that tibau will still be a test, but tyson does deserve to be fighting another big name opponent. gotta admit though that having this type of a discussion means that the ufc did a really good job of bolstering their LW division by having a few established stars move down (sherk and penn) and having really built from within (griffin, huerta, etc). they only really signed aurellio over from pride and have created a very competitive and exciting division.

Im ok with this fight. Because I don't see any of the bigger lightweights having as explosive entertaining fight as tyson griffin has with some of the less known people. griffin/tibau should be a 5 star fight. I don't think griffin/florian would be as entertaining

I think this is more of an opportunity for Gleison to fight a bigger name. His last opponent was Terry Etim, and before that Jeff Cox. Tyson suffered his first loss to Frank Edgar in Feb, and people are saying for him to go with Kenflo. Gleison hasn't lost this year at all (4 fights) and his last loss was to Nick Diaz!! I think Gleison has earned his shot at Tyson, while if Tyson wins this then I say he deserves his shot at the larger names (Kenflo, Spencer, ect...)

this should be a good fight. its kinna funny how the lightweight devision all of a sudden has a pretty steep ladder to clime.my thinkin is that there giving tibau a chance at a worth while name and tyson a chance to to actually finish a fight. not that im complaining. i love to watch him fight. decision man or not id watch a card thats really shitty just to see him

Im actually picking tibau in this fight. I think he is going to use his size to overpower griffin. I think he can keep the fight on the ground and pound him for a decision victory. He might get lucky and get a submission but im still going with tibau by decision.

yet again i think WTF are thefightnetwork talking when reading the homepage of THIS site, people need to learn how to post news items and not put their personal opinion in the 1st post cos it looks like the artcile from the website listed on the homepage, its very prominant and looks very stupid

GREAT FIGHT!!!!!!! Actually Tibua is a much better and well rounded fighter than Tavares, he hung with Nick Diaz for quite a while at 170 and is MASSIVE at 155 so will be a tought test for Tyson imo
