Why is marketing the most important business subject?
Because in our world, image speaks louder then truth.
Perception management. Ethical? Psychological warfare? Consequence of widespread small-mindedness?
Discuss.

Let's start with the simple marketing that you have used to present yourself... Let's see... an avatar promoting "40s"... a screen name putting a Jewish twist on a martial art... a post about philosophy/psychology/business posted in an MMA forum. How does one make sense of all this? Then again... I guess I have just been overtaken by your simple marketing.

They say I can't give you props Mayo, so I'll just tell you that post you just made had me laughing like a school girl.
To the thread starter: What is with the deep threads lately? Are you dying?
I don't think I let myself be overtaken by simple ads which lead me to buying things I don't want, I do however cave in to ads of familiar products that I've enjoyed in the past. I don't even own a cellphone, and that's what half of what commercials feature.

The simple marketing got you too.
I dont think Im influenced all that much by ads, most of the stuff advertised on the tv or radio is junk anyway.

I counterbalance things by being inversely affected by marketing. In other words, the more something is crammed down my throat, the less likely I am to buy it.Annoying marketing campaigns count for double.Haven't bought anything from Mc Donalds in over a decade for that very reason (nutrition issues aside). Based on current recurring and incredibly annoying ads, I dont think I'll be touching Starburst or that Vitamin water stuff anytime soon.Anyone else kinda resent having some British guy scream repeatedly over a megaphone at you "TRY IT!"...?

what do you mean by why, its what makes stupid little kids make their parents buy shit for them... its why so many of us on this site pay 40 bucks to watch a three hour event (myself included) when we know damn well we can see it for free the next morning online.... why you ask, because we are all suckers and the big business men have us by the balls... thats why
