A highly anticipated flyweight matchup has been scratched from UFC Fight Night 49, as Tim Elliott (10-5 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has been forced to withdraw from a planned bout with Wilson Reis (17-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC).

Don't know who would fill in.

I would just have reis on stand by in case
Jorgensen or cejudo gets injured at 177

What about Horiguchi? or is he too high up on the ladder to take on Reis?

Damn this sucks. I think Tim Elliott is a very underrated Flyweight. He's big too foot the weight class.

Think about it he fought John Dodson in his debut and lost a decision but did really good and nearly won that fight. I think it was 29_28.

He beat the crap out of Gaudinot. That was just a clinic he put on.

He lost to Benavidez. But leading up to that submission Elliot was definitely winning the round no doubt.

And if you look back at all his fights and compare them to the Ali Bagautinov fight. He wasn't the same. 4days prior to that Ali fight he got injured and didn't pull out. I know this because I had a beer with him in Cincinnati Fight Night 40- Brown vs Silva. He said if he could do it over again here would have pulled out of the bout but he was reluctant because it had HUGE Title implications as you see Ali got his chance.

So I'm actually glad he pulled out of this one since he is injured. I think he learned his lesson from the Ali fight.

BTW it probably won't happen again but I'd pick Elliot over Bagautinov ,

I actually like Tim too. Down to earth and he literally talked to me for the entire Chris Cariaso/ Louis Smolka bout. I made a gesture that he could fight one of these guys,

Maybe Cariaso after he losers and Elliot is healed up

There's nothing wrong with that match at all. Horiguchi just beat Montague at Fight Night 40.

To be honest it could be a pretty good scrap.

RFA hot prospect Joby Sanchez 6-0 will step in for Tim Elliott.

Sanchez was suppose to fight Manzanares at the next RFA event in the Main Event.
