I expect this bout to smash the buys for Mayweather vs. Cotto which was around 1.5 mil but it won't come close to the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather bout from several years ago. Both guys are going to get paid for sure!

Somewhere in between then? 2 million buys?

Skip Bayless made the claim that because this was a catchweight that weigh ins would also take place the day of the fight. I can't find anything to support this, is he just full of shit as usual?

I would like to see Canelo pull it off, but I just don't think he has a chance. At only 22 he's already had 43 fights (42-0-1) and I figure he's still improving & developing as a fighter. This however is just too big of a step up in competition. The only big name win he has on his record is over Shane Mosely, who went 0-2-1 is his 3 fights prior to that, didn't look like he cared in any of those fights, and has just collecting a few big paydays before calling it a career. Mayweather is close to the end as well, but he's still got the quickest feet & hands and should be able to cruise to an easy decision.

I'd say right around 2 mil is a great guess. Canelo seems to have really captured the Hispanic crowd but not like Oscar who had a full career in before the lead up to his fight with Floyd.

Pretty excited about this one. I still think that Mayweather's defense and speed will be enough to win a decision.

It's whatever language they want to put in the contract. Being a catchweight fight doesn't correlate to when the weigh-ins are, just depends if it says that in the contract they both sign.
