So I just now got around to watching UFC 155. And somethings jumped out at me:

3 times Yushin tried to take Belcher down. 3 times Belcher reversed the takedown from the clinch. 3 times Belcher went for a guillotine and GAVE Yushin top position.

There was only one time in the entire fight where Yushin took Belcher down without Belcher jumping for a guillotine, and that was already more than half way through the fight when Belcher was tired.

I thought fighters knew by now that it wasn't worth it to jump for a guillotine. Its a low percentage move and if you fail you're on your back. Belcher should have known this going into the fight.

Since he apparently didn't, his corner should have told him after the FIRST time.

In the first round, Belcher was breaking away on the feet. This would have been an entirely different fight if he would have been a little bit smarter. Yushin seemed unable to take him down otherwise.

Yeah I thought this I thought he'd be far more impressive but he virtually gave that fight away.

i said the same thing during the fight. once yushin got him on the ground, belcher couldn't get back up and yet he continued to pull that guillotine. i was really hoping to see belcher win that fight, but i was relieved to see where he is at in the MW division and he obviously isn't in the top echelon of fighters. good job to yushin too, he was really smothering and controlling on the ground.

Don't necessarily agree about the last part.

I actually thought he should have won the fight. It was just dumb strategy that lost it for him.

He stopped all of Yushin's takedowns (except one after he was already tired.) He reversed Yushin several times. And he out struck him.

If he wouldn't have pulled those guillotines I think he would have won.

probably one of the most frustrating fights i have watched in recent memory. Plus being a fan of belcher made it even worse.

That was the stupidest performance I've ever seen from a top 10 fighter on the behalf of Belcher

He reversed 3 takedowns (an accomplishment rarely ever seen) and then wasted 2 of them by pulling guard with a Guillitone within a few seconds of the reversal. That cost him round 1 and 2. Then rd3 he does it again but he delays the instant reaction. To me that really was pathetic.

I agree with everything I said previously. His decisions were almost as poor as the Chael backfist, the difference was Chael only through it once and lost the fight because of it. Belcher did the same thing 3 times and lost the fight because of it. Chael was never given the chance to learn from his mistakes. Belcher didn't learn.

Everybody was giving Chael grief because of the backfist. I think this is a far better example of foolish. It really made me dislike Belcher.
