Hey guys,

I just did Bas Rutten's drill for skill excercises an I gotta say it rules.

His standup drills are great and his BJJ drills are really good drills.

Its a really good alternative if you cant make it to the gym to train.

Leigh is a good fighter there's no shame in losing to him lol. Too bad he retired or your teacher could have had a rematch :p

Try this out, this is a great workout that was posted on another forum. Thanks Aric!

1 round:
1-30 sec. burpees
2-30 sec. jab/cross/sprawl
3-30 sec. jump squats
4-30 sec. plyo pushups
5-30 sec. shadow boxing (hands only)
6-30 sec. shadow boxing (punches & kicks)

Its set up to work cardio, timing, speed, etc, and works your entire body. To get more results, do more rounds, more reps, or even up the time per category.

If you wanna Work Cardio.
Here is my suggestion.
Cardio Weights (small sets but little rest)

Run 30 Min
Jump rope 2x 5 min's (or 10 together if you can make it.)
Swim 1 hr
Dont go lazy on the swim keep it hard and conssitent. Then cool down the last 10 min of the swim.

what would you suggest to do instead of swimming? I can do everything else except the swimming (too cold to swim outside and can't go indoors to swim don't have a membership to the Y)

Another new work out I put together a few weeks ago is this that you could try out:

-Take any size plate that you feel comfortable with(I use 5lbers in each hand.).
-Stand parallel to a wall mirror in the gym.
-Do the following with no rest inbetween each section. Take a SHORT break in between sets.

1. do 45 seconds of punching out(left, right, left, right, etc.)
2. do 45 seconds of vertical presses(shoulder press)
3. do 45 seconds of uppercuts
4. do 45 seconds of shrugs(keep your arms in front of your body though, this will work more anterior muscles that you'd use in striking)

Do a few sets of them, and your pretty well burnt. It works cardio, as well as your upper body. For you, it may not be hard, but that just means your not doing it fast enough. The faster you do it, the better the results will be. It also helps to try and speed up towards the end. Maybe do 3 of the sections at 75%, and the last section at 100%.

Papercut, I guess your talking about the guy below me, but you can just do any other cardio work out on here, they all work for the same purpose.

Nope. Just Hardcore. Try doing the runs in Winter it makes it even funner.
I actually used to use the Run has a cool down maybe run 1.5-2 miles. Then I would take the swimming hard witha team pratice of maybe 115- 130
